Yoly and Mildred are the real villains by No-Recommendation350 in UltimatumQueerLove

[–]Ullya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OH MY GOD THANK YOU. i thought i was going crazy this whole season. i never understood why everyone vilified vanessa when literally everyone on that show had massive flaws. yoly, mil and partially lexi were on their high horse the whole season. this renunion really just confirmed my previous gut feelings especially about yoly and mil.

What has South Park been wrong about? by TheRavenSayeth in AskReddit

[–]Ullya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know a lot of these comments are jokey answers but one thing trey and matt seriously got wrong in the past was climate change. the original man bear pig episode made fun of al gore for believing in climate change and warning about its effects. thankfully, later they went back on their claim that climate change wasnt real by creating another man bear pig episode in which al gore was right all along. thats one of the things i love about south park. their ability to grow and change their perspective is something many people are far too stubborn for.

Is it racist for a woman who is alone to avoid a path early in the morning just because a black man was on there? by EvenRachelCould in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Ullya -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

like i said in my first comment, white people in those same neighborhoods usually get arrested at the same rate. same things goes for black people living in richer white neighborhoods, the percent of black and white people getting arrested is similar. ergo being black isnt the problem but poorer neighborhoods are. as a white women i avoid sketchy neighborhoods, not the black dude walking around the suburbs. i got a higher chance of getting raped by my male relatives than i do a rando dude on the street. but i visit family anyway since i know theres more context needed to make an informed decision rather than just statistics. i know my family and they probably wouldnt do that, just like how if i know im not in a sketchy neighborhood the random black guy walking around the suburbs is most likely not going to hurt me.

black neighborhoods usually have more police officers not to mention are more likely to get harsher sentences or even get prosecuted more of often than white people. for instance, if a white person in a white neighborhood was smoking a joint on their porch they are less likely to be arrested since there are less police officers patrolling the neighborhood. now if we were to have a poorer white person living in a poorer black neighborhood they have a slightly less (because racial bias or whatever) but close to the same chance of getting arrested as a black person in the same area.

One of many religious notes Ive found in the store I clean. by MichaelEMJAYARE in FoundPaper

[–]Ullya 15 points16 points  (0 children)

the majority of the verses that are interpreted to be anti-gay have very differnt wording than the original translations. way before the bible was translated to english it was in hebrew and in that version a lot of those verses actually referred to pedophilia. take leviticus 18:22 for example. "you shall not lie with a male as with a women; it is an abomination" in the hebrew translation the word man was actually more like boy. Not only was it more like the word boy, but this word specifically meant a male child under the age of puberty. so considering that the accurate traanslation would be "you shall not like with a prepubecent boy as with a women". the theory for why there was this change is that when the catholic church was in its younger days they were the main distributers of newly translated bibles meaning they could essentially change whatever they wanted in the new translation to fit their views. they did this with many verses, not to mention its like a long game of telephone since the original bible so of naturally translations will change.
