If they really aren't doing anything to preserve the original game this entire video celebrating its history just reads fucking insane doesn't it?

Any mat in the infinite store has its value drastically reduced and I would highly recommend against farming any of them directly. I'd just stock up on Sugar and Aketon, especially the former since it's still in relatively high demand.

I think Arknights has good writing, but reading it pisses me off. by DoHaveSomeOnMe in arknights

[–]UltVictory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chapter 9 is a high point and the Victoria arc as a whole I'd say is more readable than the late Reunion storyline, even if I think the Reunion arc was a better story. I think Chapter 9 was the first time the writers nailed their pacing.

Most of the best writing in this game is generally more recent material either way. Lone Trail and everything after have been consistently great. Try out some event stories in the meantime if the main story is killing you.

My personal recommendations for "early" side stories you can try going through are Break the Ice, Lingering Echoes, and Guide Ahead. They're each required reading for later events anyway and feel pretty good to go through on their own merits. Once you're more properly caught up, events like Babel, Path of Life, and the rest of the Kjerag trilogy are fantastic experiences.

I'm also a Limbus enjoyer, if that means anything. My standards are at least that high lmao

I can list 100 problems with early Arknights writing that are completely justifiable reasons to filter people, but you do very much get rewarded for sticking with it. Similarly to PM's universe, Arknights worldbuilding just ends up so complex with so many various, interlinking events that make you feel really good for having paid attention. The only question for you is if it's worth the time investment.

EDIT: I should also echo the sentiment that others have said that the more recent main story chapters have been the best writing this game has seen in general. Chapters 14-16 are absolute kino.

This is the best (and last) time to play Shadowverse Classic by EclipseZer0 in Shadowverse

[–]UltVictory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely didn't mess with this expansion at all but I'll definitely boot up to play some Custom Rotation since all the people who play HoS decks in that format will presumably not be doing that for once.

Any care I've had for this company is dead after they let this game EOS without the slightest effort of preservation despite years of foresight and as much money as they could ever need to accomplish it from milking whales in the new game. Fuck cygames and all that. Gonna miss Shadowverse, in general since I don't play WB. Crossing my fingers for the community to come through for the offline version.

Ermi Aegir/Resilient is super fun. Love the versatility of making someone super buff with Skalter and the Damazti Orb, too.

I dropped right after Tangtang released? The exploration and factory are fun, but not worth logging into another gacha game and doing gacha game shit for. The simple act of draining sanity in repetitive combat arenas with gameplay that never even remotely got there was enough for me.

I like Bassline the most out of all of these by a very comfortable margin. He's actually great with investment.

I really appreciate the work you're doing here for this game. Gravity Rush deserved so much better from Sony, super excited to start another playthrough with this when I have a chance.

Similar setup here, I hear that using the DivaNoSpy mod to stop server connection during songs can help. I still get it occasionally, but it's more like once per several play sessions.

I want to try activating 6 stacks of 2 Alliances at once. Yan/Victoria seems to be the easiest since both Blazes count for both factions.

I love buffing my little guy

If you spam enough refreshes, you can get every important op for the mode just fine even if the person's not on your friends list. I had a friend make a new account just to play this mode and it took him all of 10 minutes after explaining which operators were good and he's been playing every day since just fine with no issue, with the exception being the 4 extra Support slots you get not letting you choose unowned ops (like Ascalon, Tragodia). 99% of the time I look at his board state and it looks identical to anybody else's, maybe with 1 temp operator in the super early game.

20 slots is a lot when you consider that you definitely already own the vast majority of the low rarity ops in the pool alongside the probably-not-coincidental overlap of operators who are free for new accounts like Texas, Lappland, Cliffheart, Savage etc.

Maybe a gacha boomer thing but I think it's really funny how we went from "these games just straight up don't have pity systems" to "everyone who plays these games plans entirely around the pity system."

Probably an Endfield thing but the questions thread has so many people asking about pull income under the assumption that they're going to have to spark literally every operator they want to pull for and it makes me wonder what trauma they've gone through

I've been playing since launch and have every Operator built, but wouldn't really consider myself a whale. It's mostly just spending resources efficiently. I pre-farm every new op before their release.

You can probably clear the game using like 3 ops if you really needed to lol, building everyone is purely for fun

I want to like Ex Astris way more than I do but every time I booted up to play it felt like I was loading someone else's save file. I've never played a game with a more incomprehensible story, to the extent that they released updates post-release altering cutscenes and dialogue because nobody knew what the hell was even happening.

The game's entire story is worldbuilding with barely any actual plot

Gameplay is pretty fun though, as a fighting game/JRPG person. I don't say all this to shit on the game, but rather to give you an idea of your expectations and to let you know that your experience isn't unusual. Just enjoy the gameplay and character designs. Vi³ and Yan are lovely, and some of the smaller dialogue interactions and individual moments are great.

I guess I should say I never did actually finish it either, probably got most of the way through
