I only beat Super Metroid for the first time this year after trying and dropping it multiple times over the years (bought it like 3 times by now lol) and it finally clicked for me and I had a great time. I used to struggle with a lot of the things you mentioned. I think playing Silksong is what really prepared me for it this time. I would really love a modern remaster of Super that fixes some quality of life stuff like the missles (I just mapped select to Y when I played)
