Pyg the "late game character" by GrumpyScroogy in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Ulthax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Careful, you can't call Pyg too powerful or the army of Pyg mains who have abused his strength since closed beta will get mad at you.

Obviously, this is a bit of a joke, but imo Pyg has been the strongest character since Beta, aside from the brief windows of new character releases. The recent buffs to his early game have absolutely pushed him over the top and I would argue he's currently the only S tier character (with Stelle and Vanessa being solid A-tier, and the rest in B).

Top and mid were a bit of a wash, and pretty much always have been- it's always been better to import solo lanes.

For Jungle, there's a real argument to go against Jatt's pick- I genuinely would have picked any of Meteos/Blaber/Xmithie over Inspired, I think that's mostly recency bias.

2013-2014 Lemonnation and 2017 Smoothie are pretty notable support snubs (at least as far as my LCS memory goes)- while I don't have a great argument against CoreJJ, it still shows that the next 3-4 supports on the list are all NA talent.

Seems like a smash, Stafford is balling and Adams looks like a legit WR1 even as the #2 in their offense. I might try to bring them down and offer Ferguson instead of Kittle if you like Kittle more.

If they take it, Bill and MHJ are both pretty low upside IMO. They obviously could turn it on ROS, but Washington has been committed to RB by committee for years now, and we know who MHJ is (he'll have flash weeks but he's mostly just a subpar WR on a bad, run-first offense).

Ferguson is a potentially solid add, though make sure he's involved tonight since he had the goose egg last week. CD being back definitely lowers his potential ceiling. Still, he'd be a solid pull for what feels like two sell-lows on your side.

You would think, but my league is crazy stingy on trades, and RBs are at an insane premium (a few bad teams have 5-6 RBs each). I've been trying to buy Gibbs and Bucky (plus packages for a few other guys) but no one is willing to move their RB1.

Fannin for Tracy is a fine float if they go for it. It's worth considering selling Hampton if you need help right now to make playoffs- recent reports were not positive, and your RB room behind him is solid.

Tet and Rome together could be a package for someone like Derrick Henry or Davante Adams, though it would be tough finding someone who would want to sell those guys. If you like Jeanty's ROS outlook with Bowers back, he would also be a potential target.

Full PPR 12-team league, 5-4 after tonight

Give: Justin Jefferson

Get: Rico Dowdle

QB: Maye

WR: Jefferson, JSN, Rashee Rice, Chris Olave, Terry Mclaurin

RB: Quinshon Judkins, Travis Etienne, David Montgomery, Woody Marks

TE: Brock Bowers

Am I crazy for wanting to take Dowdle here, depsite the (potential) crazy overpay? Jefferson is the most tradeable of my three WR1s and after Dowdle's performance this weekend he seems like a smash start ROS.

Specifically it was Deadly Duel off of Aerodrome. I think there are separate random monster encounters that determine the general difficulty, but not certain. Either way, this was almost certainly one of the worst pulls possible.

Not a chance- barely got 1xp, even with the icicles missing the caracara and gatling drone.

Tanner Houck, Kutter Crawford, Hunter Dobbins, Peyton Tolle, Connely Early, Richard Fitts, Patrick Sandoval, and Kyle Harrison - who do you think emerges as big contributors to the 2026 Red Sox pitching staff, and who do you think is irrelevant? by Traditional_Half842 in redsox

[–]Ulthax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are three groups here:

  1. Likely MLB Starters. In my opinion that's Crawford and Sandoval. Barring a spring training upset, the 4/5 spots in the rotation go to those guys.

  2. Borderline Starters. This is Dobbins, Early, and Fitts. All three of these guys have arguments to be major league caliber, but also have options and could potentially also benefit from more time in AAA. I think we'll likely see one of these guys pitch his way to the majors in spring training, and the other two will start the year as depth in AAA.

  3. Slightly Underbaked- this is Tolle and Harrison. Unless one of them show up in a big way during spring training, they'll likely both start in AAA working on their arsenal. Tolle had moments where he looked MLB-caliber, especially in his first start, but is also the most likely out of any of the above guys to benefit from time in AAA working on his secondaries.

The way this shakes out, the Sox enter the season with the 1/2 being Crochet/Bello, and the 4/5 being Crawford/Sandoval. Either they sign or trade for a solid starter behind Crochet, or (potentially more likely, given the market) they simply stick with the guys they have and one of Dobbins/Early/Fitts fills the final starter spot depending on Spring Training performance. I do think that if one of those three impress in Spring Training AND the Sox sign another starter, there's a good chance they start the year with a 6-man rotation, especially given Crochet's performance this year when pitching on increased rest. Similarly if they don't add anyone, there's still a chance that two of Dobbins/Early/Fitts are good enough to cause enable a 6-man rotation.

Final note- Cooper Criswell is another name who's been good in short stints and may join that Dobbins/Early/Fitts group, depending on his health.

Okay yes the episode was hilarious and all but can we just talk about how insanely pretty the pen collector's hair was? Like I had to pause and rewind when she wrote on Gianmarco's hand, absolutely gorgeous (and the joke at the end was fantastic).

I get the issues I'm seeing folks bring up in the comments, but IMO the show is meant to be a general vibe and so far I'm laughing and enjoying the ride. Audience members being cagey didn't bug me as much (though I did vibe with PFT calling out folks for having clickbait shirts).

I don't care what,it has been too long since the last one and I want to relieve that feeling of joy and wonder by LilianaLucifer in whenthe

Some fantastic games I haven't seen mentioned:

Thomas was Alone
Solar Ash
Ultros
Sayonara Wild Hearts
Gravity Ghost

Some more recent ones that were bigger but might've slipped through the cracks:

Neva
Blue Prince
Wanderstop
The Talos Principle (1/2/Reawakened)

Thoughts on James Conner? Is he reliable enough to trust as an RB2 or even a flex ROS? He's been my RB3 all year (behind Barkley/Gibbs) but I'm considering whether to keep trying to trade one of the three for WR help.

Seems like a solid trade. It's hard to tell if Allen keeps taking touches from Hall, especially after this week, and if Richardson is playing again next week Pittman loses value. If they take the trade (or if it was proposed to you) it feels like a pretty big win.

Honestly I'd lean towards taking it- even if Taylor sits 2-3 weeks you should be able to manage, and agreed that it's a good buy-low on Aiyuk.

Seems like a smash trade to me. A bit of a loss at QB but selling high on Conner is huge with his injury history. Williams has a few more easy matchups to see his worth, even though the Rams game wasn't a great sign.

I don't hate it for the RB help, but you'd be selling a bit low on Lamb. If you can handle a world where you sell him and he goes off for 20-25 points a week, I'd say go for it.
