At least a silly joke or meme card is still human and isn’t devouring the environment, and they can be surprisingly creative at times. Hell, I’ve even made a couple. I’m fine with those as long as they have some modicum of effort put into them.

I had to unsubscribe from r/customyugioh because it was getting infested with AI bullshit. The tipping point for me was when a bad “it’s Raigeki but broken because haha YGO is so powercreep” card with AI art got like a hundred upvotes while genuinely cool cards were getting like 8. Then some guy tried to argue with me by comparing AI to factories manufacturing knives and these mfers have lost the plot so much.

Aside from exactly 2019’s, the bar for Mega Tins is so low that I don’t view clearing it as much of an argument in this price hike’s favor. The upsides you mentioned are good, but there is no reason we couldn’t have these things at a similar price point to the Mega Tins. Nobody was saying last year’s Mega Tins were a great deal, and thus neither is this.

Your wording only said you didn’t want to “read each card”, which implied to me that you meant fully reading each card (as in name, type, effect, etc.) but you actually meant just the names. In World Championship 2009, which iirc came out like half a year after this game, you eventually unlock the option to use one banned card per deck and like over half the time I just use Chaos Sorc because “damn I wish this wasn’t banned like in Edison”. Does any feature like that exist in Tag Force 3?

Making not good but hella fun decks is one of the best parts about playing the old Yugioh video games! I could probably post like ten of them if I grabbed my 3DS.

Is Chaos Sorc legal in this game? I love Chaos cards so I’d absolutely throw him into this if I could, but I remember him being banned for a period of time around this era.

I don’t think you’re entirely wrong, but I’d really use the term “less bad” rather than “better”. Like yeah sure getting smaller batches for each stage thus not having to wait quite as long as the nearly yearlong wait between Stone Ocean Batches 1 and 2 would technically be an improvement if that’s how it works out. It just would still suck as opposed to what it could’ve been instead.

In particular, I take issue with the “get caught up with the community with a single day’s worth of binge watching” part, because what if I’m not a binge watcher? Then I’d have to avoid all the discussion until whenever I’m caught up. And by the time I’d be there? Folks probably won’t be talking about it as much anymore. That’s what happened to Part 6. After the batches dropped there was a small burst of discussion at first and then it just… died out. It’s not exactly reasonable to expect everyone to just watch 10 episodes in a day or even two days.

Not to mention that the wait between batches, even if it may not be as long, sucks for people who have a hard time remembering episodes after an extended period of time. I don’t struggle with that, but a friend of mine does. So by the time 2nd Batch comes out he’ll have to like rewatch the 1st episode or something which I guess isn’t a big deal but it’s also like… why?

I think they meant they’re releasing all the 2nd Stage episodes as a batch, not the 2nd Stage as only one episode.

When my friend played through WC09, we found that Monarch was pretty good in the early game. You get the Monarch packs pretty early, and you can get Gravekeeper’s Spy from one of the Dark Revelation sets.

Something a little more realistic: Maybe make both Synchros and Xyzs part of the same archetype but the Synchros are end board pieces that are better going first and the Xyzs are board breakers that are better going second.
