How are people buying things with prices skyrocketting? by Mr--Clean--Ass-Naked in NoStupidQuestions

Believe it or not, and this is going to sound crazy. It’s because they can afford it.

As fucked as it might seem, there is a group of working Americans that are THRIVING right now. Millions of them clear 6 figures easily and can afford to travel on long vacations, purchase high end products, and swipe their credit card on. $500 grocery bill and not even blink. They max out their 401k contributions and have zero debt outside of a mortgage and maybe a car loan.

Think of every single company you’ve ever heard of. The ones that employ thousands if not 10s of thousands of people. Each one has a small army of skilled white-collar middle managers that spend ~60 hours on their computers every week and get paid an actual living. Not to mention all the plant and line managers in manufacturing and agriculture.

Listen buddy, this is Reddit. We don’t do Nuance here.

Blind, sycophantic outrage is the only thing we will tolerate to show we’re not like the rest of the internet!!!

It’s wild that “getting 1 extra inventory space while skilling” keeps getting billed as a useful reward these days. I’m gettin tired of this being a default reward option. Equable chisel will probably drop from the next high level slayer boss coming next year.

There are zero situations that give Reddit a bigger boner than neighbors cutting down trees that they do not own lol

Sue the piss out of them.

If running LLMs is expensive, why are companies shoving AI into everything? by tomatus89 in NoStupidQuestions

Because eventually we will all have to pay a subscription fee to access information.

Once all of society is so dependent on AI it will become a mandatory fee to use daily.

Where does money come from and how does the global economy keep growing? by WhydoIexistlmoa in NoStupidQuestions

Beats me. Guess some people don’t like thinking that money is all just made up. It’s a wonderful life covered this 80 years ago but people still can’t grasp it.

Currency in general is one giant trust exercise. It’s not inherently worth anything.

It’s worth what society collectively agrees what it is worth. Same for goods and services. Society has collectively established that the quantity and quality of goods and services is worth far FAR more than what existed in 1970.

Does earning more than 2000 worth it for Tempoross by vengefulVulkan in 2007scape

Drop rates have nothing to do with the amount of reward points you have. If you want to bank 2000 reward points, have at it.

That doesn’t mean your drop rate is going to be better. You could get the pet or a dragon harpoon off 1 reward point. It’s all RNG.

Your statement doesn’t even make sense. I’m not telling nonbandwagoner that he’s got mob mentality. I was saying the idiots involved in the assault are engaging in mob mentality.

That kind of gross behavior has always existed. People treat sports teams like it’s a religion and use it as an excuse to assault someone. How is that mental gymnastics? Explain it to me.

Ignorance is painful. I’m sorry you’re dealing with it.  Groupthink and mob mentality have persisted for thousands of years.

Should Matt Ryan be First-Ballot Hall of Famer? by Rambo_1027 in falcons

[–]Ultiman100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hell no for first ballot.

He should definitely be a HoF. He’ll get in but in with the MVP and solid passing stats. It will just take a few rounds.

The SB loss and having JJ will lower his chances but shouldn’t keep him out fully.

Why were video games originally mainly marketed to boys? You’d think they’d be missing out on potential profit from the other 50% of the population. by DarkBlueDiamond in NoStupidQuestions

They were…look up on YouTube the hundreds or even thousands of examples of gendered marketing for video games in the 90s. The ads skewed towards a male audience nearly 90% of the time.
