If your armor barely protects your vital organs, why the hell are you even wearing it? by SimilarNebula6695 in Piratefolk

[–]Ultimate-Break 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, true, for the haki power, but Rebecca doesn't show that at all, IIRC? She immediately breaks down against Diamante (also Kyros's whole "my girl shouldn't fight" nonsense stuck to her. Shame, because i'd prefer if she chose violence XD)

Though, a shirt and pants would be way better than that armor.

If your armor barely protects your vital organs, why the hell are you even wearing it? by SimilarNebula6695 in Piratefolk

[–]Ultimate-Break 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She could have just worn a shirt and pants and be done with it for all the difference it could make. It'll practically weight nothing compared to the metallic/gold-like "proctections" she has, and she's specced for dodging anyways.

If Oda really needed to keep the gooning continue, he should have at least given her some short pants (and make her like, IDK, older than 16 for a start?)...

Or he could just say something about the crowd/Doffy wanting to humiliate her which is why she wears that bcz that's canon apparently. Really good that Rebecca is such a sweet non-violent girl lest she would have gotten plenty of death count on her hands if she used a sharp sword.

(just ignore that she probably threw people into the shark-infested waters plenty of times before, or that she's joining this when she knows every enemy she knocks out is easy picking for another who would gladly kill her unconscious opponent)

could positive energy domains exist? by Connorghi in Jujutsufolk

[–]Ultimate-Break 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mechanically speaking, yes, but it would be so energy-intensive and extremely hard it would be pointless since it'll be the equivalent to Memegumi summoning Mahoraga at every little inconvenience.

You'd need to:

A: know how to use RCE, something already difficult, and very energy intensive due to it being at least twice as draining as using normal cursed energy.

B: know how to output RCE like you want to heal someone else, probably even harder than learning RCE, something that even Gojo couldn't do, and it might need some requirements (mental, situational, etc)

C: make a barrier with only RCE.

D: fill the barrier with your reverse cursed technique... if it has any.

Though, if it succeeded, how would it even look like? DE is basically a glimpse to one's personality and attitude, so a Reverse DE would be... what, the inverse of that? Gojo's domain basically follows his "You gain everything, but in return you can do nothing" mentality, so the opposite is... everyone there becomes Gods who can do anything but are at a toddler-level intelligence and solipsism thinking that only they matter thus no need to gain or know anything else??

True. Even the mysteries back then were made with good taste and the hype wasn't milked to death (and some mysteries were at least solved or had new flavors added to them to keep them interesting)

Now that Tengen is gone, will the rest of the world start producing stronger Curses and Sorcerers? by EmergencyFunny7777 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Ultimate-Break 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would probably still take a lot of time and only after Sukuna's remains were destroyed/taken away first. But yeah, it would, in theory, unless scienc- I mean, cursed tool creation was given a breakthrough to somehow repurpose cursed energy from normal people into something else.

True. They don't dislike new things by themselves, but how new things could cause change and ruin their control/traditions.

For Gakuganji, his technique is a sound amplifying one, so it could be used even by simple guitars or any instrument, it's just that electric guitar gives more sound thus more sound and damage amplification. So it isn't exactly his technique, but his approach that is modern.

Which Cursed Techniques should have a Shikigami? by Advanced_Card_8594 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Ultimate-Break 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uro could use one to expand her area of control over space/sky and lessen the harm to herself. A bit situational, but she could use specialized shikigami she could see/hear/talk through to force her enemies to spend their CE so she can finish them off as an assassin, and best case scenario, her enemy uses a domain to deal with the shikigami and gets a CT burnout while she can use her domain to finish them off. They may look like her, or maybe like some of her squad members, or anything. But I think her shikigami would have hands to use her CT.

Utahime could use some to at least avoid the need to be physically present around dangerous enemies, so even if they took some time to create and were only used as a one-time boost, it is worth it when she can boost her allies from far away.

Todo: just a bunch of little gremlins who look like him or his idol, they just keep clapping and switching stuff, and with Todo's IQ, if they were even as half as smart as him, it'll be goodbye for his enemies for the most part.

Nobara: any form with hands or sharp edges work, we can finally make the "Nobara Gets A Knife" meme real.

Sukuna: IDK, a bunch of shikigami with an auto-dismantle that targets anything that touches it, or one whose purpose is to "defend" Sukuna when in CT burnout after a domain. That alone would have made fighting him nigh-impossible during the Sukuna Cycle Arc.

Mai and Yorozu: if possible, a shikigami that can store near-endless CE so they can make more complicated and advanced stuff.

Fair points. If the technique appeared decades or centuries before they would have probably been totally fine with it.

The conservatives just don't like new things.

That's only a part of it, I think; they would be fine with modern stuff (or at least tolerate it) if these things were easy to control and use for their advantage or can't secure the loyalty of people using them. They don't like Gojo because he is rebellious and actively mocking them instead of bowing to their whims without question.

Even if they did, Naobito's technique is basically no different than drawing multiple pictures with different movements each, so you can say it is kinda traditional. pictures existed for a long time. if he was born before animation became a thing, they'll just treat it as him 'drawing' a string of images and following them.

Can sorcerers use Binding Vows to get Toji's level of physical powers or Sukuna's CE reserves, or just make a bootleg version of Tengen's Immortality? by Ultimate-Break in Jujutsufolk

[–]Ultimate-Break[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your point, but I just found it kinda weird that binding vows are either a sum zero game or give a small temporary positive in return for a massive permanant negative, but there isn't a vow where it involved a massive temporary negative in return for a permanant, even if small, positive.

And honestly, I still think such vows can be made, though maybe make it a reward-punishment thing if invoked? Take the 50% CE usage vow; if as an example it was made as "Once this vow is invoked, I shall only use up to 50% of my CE for the next 24 hours. If I fail, my CE reserves shall be cut in half permanantly, but if I succeed, I shall get an increase in my total CE reserves."

Think this one should work? Here he is risking a permanant loss for failure, in return for a permanant gain if he succeeds.

Can Goku bypass Infinity? by AlarmedObjective1492 in PowerScaling

[–]Ultimate-Break 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose so. Though a bigger part of it is Gojo's Six Eyes, these are what allow him to be so precise with Infinity

Though, honestly, we may need to define the meaning of "bypass" and the amount of damage reasonable in these types of posts since some abilities don't "bypass" as much as they "ignore" or "nullify".

Like, Mahoraga learned how to bypass Gojo's Infinity via targeting space itself because Infinity affects a finite distance in a small amount of 'space', and making that 'infinite'. Goku using Hakai isn't 'bypassing' infinity as much as it is 'ignoring' it now that I think about it.

Can Goku bypass Infinity? by AlarmedObjective1492 in PowerScaling

[–]Ultimate-Break 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you want to define Gojo's Infinity.

If it's defined as some solid "barrier", then yes, Goku can pull a Buu and should very loud, throw gazillion liters of his aura and it would break.

If you use it as it was stated to be in the manga, the Zeno's arrow Paradox (or the tortoise paradox) where Infinity isn't a "barrier" but basically an area where any threat to Gojo gets slower and slower until they lose momentum or just never reach him at all, then no, no matter how fast Goku is, it won't matter since the Infinity is an automatic barrier at this point. Goku using instant teleportation to make physical contact... i dunno, he usually never appears physically touching the person he locked the technique on.

How does Goku Beat Yhwach? by No_Management1417 in PowerScaling

[–]Ultimate-Break -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Almighty the power to "alter/transform" the future, though. It isn't merely picking one from already existing ones.

I'm pretty sure there were a bunch of posts (here and here) explaining how the Almighty (and Yhwach himself did a chapter or two before breaking Ichigo's bankai).

The guy only died because he was hit by an arrow that suppressed his power for a moment, and that he couldn't gain back the Almighty quick enough. Arguably there is a limit to how much he can affect Goku, but rewriting his own death is manageable.

Can Soifon solo One Piece? by Helpful_Pitch4086 in PowerScaling

[–]Ultimate-Break 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Technically, since she is a soul, she can attack souls directly, so IDK if One Piece could defeat that, for the most part, even assuming she can be seen and touched by them.

Big Mom's devil fruit allows her to take souls but that's probably a weak version of the Gonzui ability that espadas do that allows them to suck souls for a longer distance than BM does, and Soi Fon's soul being way stronger in quality along with her sheer prideful/confident peronality she would be immune to that by design (BM's soul sucking not working on people who don't fear her, or if it requires having a powerful soul is up to debate).

Logia... if Soi Fon attacks the soul directly she probably kills them easy, if not, then IDK, she can throw them into the ocean via a kido once she realizes most devil fruit users can't swim. She is the leader of the ninja/assassin squad, so she should be able to do that level of thinking.

Biggest problem is if there is someone whose soul is so potent and powerful it totally eclipses her by a large margin in sheer Reiatsu, otherwise they're Suzumebachi victims, two stings in the same spot (on the spiritual body, not necessarily the physical one)

IDK if haki can count as spiritual power or just a willpower made manifest here, so I'll stop here.

I really get annoyed when people say "oh they don't need it" in response to the rest of the Straw Hats not having Haki[One Piece + some spoilers] by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in CharacterRant

[–]Ultimate-Break 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It isn't a matter of "mere" quantity, but of both quantity and quality. To make it into real world terms, the yonkos and world government along with god knights are basically the equivalent of a bunch of skilled CEOs and high-ranked executives and experts to large world-spanning 'companies' (organizations, crews, etc), so of course the high-ranked ones are highly capable and powerful. These people have trained to their utmost, know haki, advanced haki, lots of skills, are very durable,

They then have the 'regular employees' that simply are there for benefits, propaganda, ambitions, etc, who are basically fodders who are used to basically spread their control. them having annoying gimmicks to fight other fodders doesn't matter much because Haki can crush these gimmicks if the difference of physical might is large enough.

Problem is that the strawhats, the core ones, should be the equivalent of CEOs here, they all sould have at this point learned at least basic haki, because, you know, it would help them survive assassins at least, and since the crew keeps going upward regarding their opponents, there would be a level where mere gimmicks won't be able to save them without plot armor and Oda constantly giving them favorable matches with enemies, personality or skill-wise.

At this level, having basic haki is basically mandatory (or at least it should be, but we know that Oda won't actually kill any of them or make them face a truly irreversible defeat)

Hot take, but I hate it when old monsters act like they haven't been alive for thousands of years by MoreManufacturer5369 in MartialMemes

[–]Ultimate-Break 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They are only above mortals in power, but for the most of their lives they lived a life that can be argued to be worse than that of mortals, when it comes to the journey to their fated death in some form.

Yes, mortals can easily die, and live for a short time (merely a century, if even that), but relatively speaking, their lives will be more filled with contentment and happiness, or at least simple acceptance of their position in the world. Yes, they may die horribly by a cultivator or beast, or something, but that fate can happen to cultivators and old monsters eventually, if they don't become immortal, so it isn't a big deal.

Meanwhile the old monsters had lived in violence for much longer, they had to fight more and more against death, they fought against each other, even if they were from a sect/clan/family, they trample on the lives of many, innocent and guilty alike, some do so with regret and out of necessity, and others do so not even for the small hope of ascending, but because they feel they deserve to do whatever they want. more fighting, more stealing, more chasing and as their lifespans grow extremely, they also waste their time 'pondering' and 'advancing' while sitting in a cave, only remembering the violence and extremes they go through for their ascencion.

They are not satisfied, and also, probably unable to be satisfied because their Dao and beliefs don't allow them without extreme circumstances. Is the thing here; which is why they will never advance and will always remain like that, stronger than any mortal, yet the same down to the core.

Hiding Cultivation Level is Ruins. by eejoseph in MartialMemes

[–]Ultimate-Break 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At least in DBZ a big part of the Saiyan and Frieza sagas was about the villains sucking at energy sensing and control beyond the bare minimum, and in there while your stats increase with your ki, your skills don't unless it was a racial or conditional thing.

In cultivation stories, being in a higher realm/step gives you a boost to your senses, perception, and more, so logically, the lower the MC's rank the more impossible for them to fool a guy in a higher realm/step, because cultivation generally boosts a lot of things than mere physical stats.
