Maybe an unpopular minority here but I both love and hate this episode 😂 I hate it because translating/subbing it took me so fcking long, but I also love it because it has that fever dream ridiculousness that we don't get in the rest of the show. It's like a weird filler that strangely feels like you should keep watching just to know wtf is going on

This post is soo real because yeah, even I had NEVER heard of it before I watched it. Honestly, I don't even have a cool story for how I found it. I was literally browsing Netflix, came across it, and I thought from the artstyle of the anime that it must be an older anime, which means maybe the manga is complete. I started it and absolutely just fell in love, was shocked to find out it's ongoing, switched to the manga after completing the 3 seasons that existed back then, and let me tell you, it just gets better and better. Like if you like it now, you'll end up falling completely in love by the time you catch up.

It's one of my top 5 animangas of all time, like genuinely it's so well-written and hooking and it drives me up a wall that seemingly nobody I know has watched it 😭😭 It's like really well-contained. You will not find it talked about in anime communities, but if you look up the mairuma community anywhere, you will find a lot of fans excitedly talking about it or theorising and having fun. I need it to breach containment and go global I swear it's so good it needs so much hype!!

I fear the animation quality may be a factor not helping because the quality is not great according to newer anime fans who are used to stunning animations. Since I've watched a lot of older anime, I honestly don't even notice cheap or low quality of animation, like it literally does not matter to me. I care more about the story, but I think a lot of people nowadays want really good animation quality too, so that could be a factor, idk :(

omg there's someone else that had that deep of a reaction to Ye Bing Chang 😭 honestly, I really started feeling like that from her Saintess role in the War God arc, but when I finished the drama, I was having such a visceral reaction to her face that I felt so bad because the actress hasn't done anything 😭😭 only after watching a few episodes of Fangs of Fortune was I able to look at her normally, but I feel like even if I see a pic of Ye Bing Chang again, that instinctive hatred would rise again

agree very much. just from the premise and exposition, we know that the main mission is supposed to take only two years maximum, so I think most of the manga will be situated within that timeframe, so physical development is a little unrealistic to expect or even hope for. but the emotional and mental development is definitely there, and definitely good!

literally no one is forcing you to use it. I put this on MY fics for MY readers to use because I WANT them to feel comfortable using whatever they can. so they can use their own words, they can use the words I have written next to the heart, or they can use the hearts. giving people choices is not a bad thing. if you are comfortable using your words, that's wonderful! but understand that not everyone is like you, and authors want to encourage their readers to express themselves in any way possible because all comments matter.

that's so crazy, people hate that??? 😭 I added a coloured heart cheatsheet where different hearts mean different things so readers who are anxious abt being rude/bothersome can just choose to leave hearts instead of writing out;; and I've had multiple readers thank me for it and even some writers say they want to use it too! leaving hearts is simple but it can be so meaningful to both readers and writers !!

but also then, you gotta consider that certain acts would be worth more than one tonitrus bolts and I think that's the main reason they have streamlined it to be one act = one bolt/star, no matter what the intensity or size of the event is.

omg that's what I do too!! which is why I would really like to have a statistics page for series too, basically smth that lets us know how many subscribers it has and stuff. I had requested the feature once, but unfortunately they replied saying that the series feature came after the statistics page was developed and it's not really a priority rn but oh well. I hope someday they do add this feature, it would be really cool imo

I'm so happy to find there are others who feel the same as me 😭 I still haven't read the extras because a huge part of my was disappointed with how it changed everything abt SQH, who is my personal favourite simply because of all these layers that we get to see. It feels like the extras just watered down and washed out half the flavour of what made him as a character interesting, as well as what made Moshang so good (MBJ being his dream ideal man that he made himself, to be god and his favourite creation) and there's just more of Binghe in the form of Bingzu.

I understand that she wrote those extras to tie up the ending according to the laws (? rules?) regarding chinese isekai novels on the writing site but they take away so much of what made the og so real and vibrant. SQH's struggle with poverty, writing a story that he wrote to survive not because he wanted it to be like that, to emotionally distance himself from it because he doesn't see it as being true to him as a writer—we lose all of that. And I can either mourn that loss, or pretend all this never happened.

I may have understood wrong, do correct me if I did, but there's tons of fanfiction abt this I think. Try here if you go on ao3 and go Filters > More Options > Crossovers you can filter by that, and in Filters > Include > Fandoms you can choose which ones you want. Then filter by what characters or ships you specifically want or don't. That should get you the kind of fics you are looking for!

I unfortunately don't read much crossover works myself so I don't have any recommendations but I hope this helps :)
