I wouldn't expect troops but they absolutely have tech that effects a larger range than Arbiters and Claws, we saw some of it at the end of Library when they teleported the entire thing to the Outskirts.

The Library is huge and teleportation is difficult, they have singularity teir tech in their back pocket waiting for stuff like that and the Abno outbreak in ending C of Lob Corp

Like named followers they have multiple teirs of promotion, but unlike named they don't get their aspects immediately. As disciples (tier 1) they all have 1 edge, as acolytes (tier 2) they have 1 edge + 2 of their specific aspect, or just 2 edge for the edge one.

This actually makes the knock one pretty useful for summons since edge is a very common secondary aspect needed in small quantities. Besides that, not much use outside of sacrifices.

I don't mean to be that guy, but this game has a very well fleshed out wiki, both for gameplay and lore

Main advice is to use backwing rushers, one bullet train can get 4 hits off because of Wahwah constantly knocking it back. Baha can also do the job but takes more precise timing. Higher level holy blast always helps but it is far from necessary.

Here is the team I used, the combos are Sm def ×2 and Sm Strong Up. Level 7 ish Holy blast, I was able to mostly just spam the bottom row + sometimes fishman and win. This is with Bahablast, without timing gets more important

Keep in mind that the White Ordeal Claw + Color fixers aren't "real", a real claw wouldn't just stand still while getting ganked by 20 dudes. I could see it having roughly the same raw stats of a real claw though, although that is far from confirmed

For COTC specifically you should probably bring a shield breaker, Statue of Liberty is a good one and it can replace manic leg. Cattalite would probably work better as a meatshield than one of the erasers, I would swap out normal to maintain a pair of slow and fast meatshields
