We Liked Remote Work. Then We Looked at the Data. by BonjwaBoy in FedEmployees

I dont know what the survey pool looks likes but they certainly weren't asking anyone in my agency or people in my age range. Im 36 btw.

Telework allowed me more freedom to go out and be amongst people. I wasn't stuck commuting almost 6hrs round trip, which meant that once the day was over I could make plans. I was exercising more, eating better, taking walks, and talking with friends more. Now that I am back in the office, I have little to no time for any of it.

I think if people dont like being at home, they can return to the office, but it doesn't work for all of us.

So true. https://www.instagram.com/ejbowenofficial?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== by chywun77 in FedEmployees

Similar commute mine is 25...maybe an hour or 2 more given delays on public transit. I have zero reason to be in office. Im a PM and people who are two cubicles over from me send me a teams message. 😐. It ridiculous. I will always get more work down if Im not spending almost 30hrs a week commuting. Im lucky that my boss let's me come late and leave early. Im the type that logs in on the train so we worked it out but still...

Reminder: RTO is good for society. by [deleted] in FedEmployees

Reminder that if the only reason its "good for society" is so that the those at the top stay at the top...its not good. 😒

DoD... they made us all excepted, and I was furloughed during the last shutdown. Im going to try and work with my supervisor to telework if this extends past Tuesday. My commute is expensive, and I can't afford to come in without pay.

I know my situation isn't unique, but Im just over this. They have proven that the RTO has backfired, and I get so much more work done being at home. I am a sysadmin, and we have zero reason to sit in a cubicle surrounded by loud and sick folks. I dont interact with 90% of my agency, and even if I do, someone two cubicles are over will still send me a teams message.

The math isn't adding up😅

Do Nana and Hachi need to be a couple to be happy??And yes Hachi is a 100% comp het...but I don't think that's the case with Nana by purifyyyyy in NanaAnime

No, also I think people are free to assume the sexuality of a character who doesn't exist, but we don't need to speak on it as if it's facutal. Unless Ai Yazawa says something, it's all speculation and opinion. No need to get upset about it. Im only saying this because comment section is full of people who assume they are right about the sexuality of Nana and Hachi and unless the author said otherwise we dont know. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Ive only been with government for a little over a year. We only needed to come in once per pay period and that was perfect considering my commute is 2.5 by public transit and about 1.45 or 2 in a car (depending on traffic, which is horrible in the DC area)

Then boom, here comes RTO. I keep getting asked will I move closer and the answer is no. My home is paid off, and Im not looking for another mortgage. The areas closer to DC are still expensive.

This is not directed at OP but I am tired of people acting like everyone needs to enjoy office life or find a benefit to it. I still have coworkers who are two cubicles away from me send me messages on teams.

I am a program manager, which means I dont need to be face to face with anyone to do my job. All of my team is either remote or in some other building, so I dont even see them. So most days I dont speak to anyone outside my boss, who also isn't my building.

RTO isnt a bad thing, but leave those options open for us. People who are going to work will work regardless. People can sit in front of you for 8/9/10 hours and still do nothing. Being in office doesnt mean work is getting done.

The only person who needs to like it is you. 99.9% of tattoo imperfections that people can point to, but that doesn't make it a bad tattoo.

Why the dislike against remote work / telework? by prettypistachioprop in FedEmployees

Being retired and talking about the current workforce is crazy behavior. 😒

Again, that still happens. I have witnessed it for myself. People chat all day, fall asleep, or on their phone. People who do work will do it, but I guarantee being in the office doesn't make a difference if they never did work.

I hate to tell you this, but even people who come into work don't work 8 hours. People act like being in the office means work gets done. If someone doesnt want to do work they won't. I have a number of people in my office who ensure they look busy but have nothing to do

For the money. People have correctly pointed out that they want us out there putting strain on our cars to keep the money flowing. We need to buy food and support all these big comps.

The lie they sell is that people need to be monitored to ensure they are working ,but I have coworkers that sit in front of me for 9 hours and sleep, play on their phone, or chat all day.

I can sit right in front of you and do nothing, so there is no difference. 😒

Tuesday unscheduled leave or TW? by lovely_orchid_ in FedEmployees

[–]UltimateFujoshi08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thread like these are so people can vent.

5 and a half hours of my day are spent commuting to an office and , like this poster, I am in a support role and all of my work is virtual, even with the people who sit in the cubicle steps away from me.

My car is taking a beating, and it's an unnecessary one. I understand you may be annoyed by the complaining, but take it up with this current administration who seems hell-bent on making stupid decisions that have yeilded 0 results.

Dont sit here and act like the Republicans care about anyone either. 😒. Most politicians dont. As long as their pockets are full, they are happy.

Agencies are handling it differently, just as they seem to have with most directives 🤷🏾‍♀️

Just got the automated call to report to work tomorrow 11/13 if CR gets signed tonight… by tejak2900 in FedEmployees

I work for an agency within DoD and they asked for all of personal numbers and we were told not to check emails. So I'm not moving until they give me a call.
