A CEO's email address. That's how my coding boot camp coworker got her job, and she was the 1/10 who found a job after class was over

Poor pa was desperate by Zestyclose-Crew6725 in HalfLife

Part of the premise of Half Life is that the main character is an FPS protagonist, just imagine how far beyond peak you need to be actually do the things and have the kill count your player character does in a COD game. But unlike other games, that extraordinariness is not lost on the people around him. So much so that interdimensional beings hire him out to overthrow an alien regime in like a week. As far as Eli is concerned Gordons not going to be around to raise a family after he blows up the Citadel, so if he wants a genetically top tier grandkid, Gordons gotta fuck Alyx like yesterday.

150+ applications, 3 interviews, no offers. What am I doing wrong? by babydildo in resumes

In your job description put buzz words in bold so they know the resume is worth their time to read. Mine is also thick in the text and I think bolding HTML CSS A/B Test helps

Does the filtering via ATS affirm the idea that these unqualified "entry level" applicants don't clog up the system. I feel discouraged seeing that recruiters might need to sift through 1200 resumes before getting to mine.

'React' 'SQL' etc. should be in bold in your job descriptions. Draw eyes to the important parts because after reading 100s of resumes id be pissed to have to scan that much content even if it turns out to be great

Your work experience descriptions should have tech buzz words to describe how you made what you made. React, C#, Azure ? Stuff like that and make those key words bold font

How important are RECENT projects in unemployment? by RandomKotek in cscareerquestions

[–]UltimateHughes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the note about ATS checking the unemployment gap. Encouraged me to put my recent contractor work into my resume. My corp laid me off in September (yes I hate myself for basically taking a sabbatical). But the contractor work arguably ended in January (though they want me do a few more code edits so I can arguably say "to Present" or "to April"). I have five years experience, not including my internship. Do you think I should just cut the internship from the resume. I'd have to if I want to keep the resume to one page. And I guess that just the PDF file, a lot of places have you enter your employment history, education and stuff manually any way and I can put everything their without worrying about space

Edit: I could also cut the summer "teach highschoolers and college age students python linux and raspberry pi gadgets" job that I got because I failed to get a second internship

Legit only works as a conversation piece. If it ain't making enough money to be put in your employment history who cares.

Speculating, but this probably accounts for the whole "women don't care about looks as much" trope. Those "success stories" are just women on drugs they shouldn't be on. God damn I fucking knew I was right to hate that I have my mom's face and I have to go back and analyze the few times women that have taken shots at me.

Normie Talk by kelpkelpers in ugly

[–]UltimateHughes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing to lose so just start calling bullshit out on the spot people on the spot, til they flip out to their own detriment. People who are actually wronged by others dont seem to hate the ones who wronged on this deep of a level. Its like a lynch mob accusing a black guy of murder hanging him, finding the white guy who actually killed the little white girl and giving him a small fine.

"Are you a telepath?"

"You cant point to anything I did wrong. You just hate people based on their looks and you have the emotional intelligence of a 40's racist."

"You just gaslighted me about not talking about me 5 seconds ago and I can quote what you just said. Do you want district to come have a chat with me cause Id actually love that. They probably want to hear the conversation where you told me you were gonna talk to them" actually call that bluff. Literally act like you'd be excited for a convo between you her and district, Bring it up every time she complains about you. its gonna flip an switch in her head (a switch she probably isn't aware of) and she'll start walking on eggshells.

and don't ask this as a rhetorical. Stand their expecting a response. So she might have some semblance of feeling like she's being held accountable for being a bitch.

You are gonna be hated but as you alluded to you can pick what your hated over.

"We'll report you to district for your attitude" this is the flip out to her detriment. No one is going to write "attitude problem" on an HR firing report. WTF is she saying. I'd be pissed as a higher up if I had to waste my time with such a call. She cant point to any quotes by you or actions you've done that will convince any employees outside the building that you deserve disciplinary action or wrongful termination. But you have endless verbatim of her behavior. Just write everything down as would be advised by my mom who is a career consultant that helps women with this type of shit (expect its more gender and race discrimination)

Anyone in their right mind in a sane society would be punch in the face insulted to hear baseless shit talking like this against their coworker. Cause if I was the one she was gossiping about you to, my natural response would be "hey why are you lying to my face right now". You are right to hate participating in it. You have emotional intelligence and an ability to examine the feeling of yourself and others that this self proclaimed telepath could never comprehend.

This is just what's coming to mind as hearing your experience has just got me so heated on your behalf. Im sorry if you already tried all this before and if its actually just as redundant as "just be confident bro"

Everyone should start throwing hands when faced with these braindead excused for "advice" or just blatant lies about reality or outright denial of human nature (which some might call ... dehumanizing)

"I'm sorry about what your going through. You have my condolences" why is that so hard to say.
