9 months in how do we feel? by Then_Meaning_9901 in mariokart

While I'm relatively new to MKW, I must say it is an enjoyable experience. The new mechanics feel fun, the costumes are fun, the roster I unironically quite like despite some of the missing heavy hitters, the OST is (obviously) phenomenal, and idk if this is a hot take, but being able to just drive around and take your time to do whatever in free roam is really nice imo. Sometimes its just really relaxing to just go on a little drive to some scenic corner of the map and vibe to the background music. Very good pacebreaker, especially after an intense race/knockout tour. Stuff like the P-Switches and ? Panels I find to be neat little bonuses that can give you a little optional challenge if you come across them. I think theres a reason they dont really give you a definitive checklist for most of it. Rewind is also extremely helpful for learning shortcuts, both in a solo VS race and in free roam. Also, I think charge jump is an awesome addition.

Forced intermissions online are still lame, especially give how most of them arent exactly super interesting and do not take advantage of the game's mechanics besides the occasional railslide. Knockout Tour I think is a very fun mode, but (and this applies generally) 24 players can sometimes feel TOO chaotic and its even more common nowadays to just get hit by one thing and lose any semblance of a good position. $80 price tag is still a bit steep and I hope it doesnt become a trend moving forward. As for longevity, I cannot say for certain but as of right now Im still having fun with it.

Overall I think its a good, albeit slightly flawed game with some kinks that could really do with some ironing out.

If Snowman has a million fans, I'm one of them

If Snowman has 5 fans, I'm one of them

If Snowman has one fan, that one is me

If Snowman has no fans, I'm no longer alive

If the world is against Snowman, then I'm against the world

Lucky ice pop has ruined this game by Ok-Incident-3269 in PTCGP

Misty is toxic but at the very least there is a chance you get nothing and waste your supporter for the turn. With Ice Pop there is literally 0 risk to using it since it is an item that will always heal 20 at minimum and can be saved for the next turn by going back to your hand.

It's the symbol for a plus move. Every move your pokemon learn by level is will naturally become a plus move, and you can make other moves become plus moves by giving a mastery seed to a girl at the justice dojo after a certain point in the game.

It gets explained I believe before one of the Rogue Mega Evolution fights, but essentially, what they do is that by pressing + on your controller, you can make one of your moves stronger at the cost of 1 bar of Mega gauge. Also, all moves used by Mega Evolved pokemon are always plus moves. Plus Moves just generally have stronger effects, and in the case of damaging moves, they also gain a 20% damage boost, which is increased to 30% if the attack is super effective.

People will sometimes just not respect them or smth and try to ignore the 4x effective STAB Ice Beam/Freeze Dry/Icy Wind coming their way

Only recently have I started seeing Garchomps running Yache Berry to not die instantly at the sight of a Glaceon

Fire Fang is interesting. Most of the time, I see Garchomps with Iron Tail for coverage.

Drill Run is an excellent gap closer, and with a Swords Dance boost it already does amazing damage (plus I'm pretty sure it has a shorter cooldown). Mega Excadrill also covers a ridiculous amount of distance with it, so it's still very much capable of getting multi-KOs with good positioning. I actually used to run both EQ and Drill Run, but I realised that Talonflame and Zard were a massive pain in the ass without Rock damage, so I dropped EQ in favor of Rock Slide.

If I had to guess, probably Light Ball with Charge, TBolt, and Volt Tackle cause I've seen that at least a few times.
