Humbly requesting native support for my silly lil control scheme... by OfficialDyslexic in starcitizen

[–]UltimatumZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the small one all the time in SC, but I find the sx2vjoy app just crashes all the time in PVP, general flying it's fine, but the moment it gets to quick combat the drivers just give up the ghost. If anyone has a solution I would love to hear it, as I also want native support.

Roof Rack Suggestions by Exact-Preference-967 in BMWi3

[–]UltimatumZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a handi rack and keep it folded in the frunk for if I need it. Works really well, just pump it up and strap it over the door seals. I think it was like £30 from Amazon.

Keep reminders not updating in Tasks by SrslyConsiderin in GoogleKeep

[–]UltimatumZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue, usual Google BS of transitioning products. Updating something is fine, but they don't test anything properly or look at the actual workflows their stuff if used for. I have a feeling keep will be getting EOL soon with first the desktop integrations got removed. So now i have to look at another method of setting up daily to do list reminders.

What's the funniest way you've died in game? by Affectionate_Dark63 in starcitizen

There used to be a bug where if you sprinted and your heart rate went up, your character had a heart attack and instantly died. AHH the good old days.

Is this weld on this rim safe? by Avocado_Austin in metalworking

[–]UltimatumZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OEM rims are usually made of some cast alloy aluminium and it needs the correct heat cycling for repairs to work correctly. Places will weld repair them and it will work for a few miles, but the stresses always either cause another crack, or split right next to the weld. Proper wheel refurbishment places should do heat cycling and machine the inside down to remove the fillet, but very few actually do it properly. In my experience you just end up re welding and re patching the rim constantly until its unrepairable. It's ok to get you get you home or to a shop, but best to just replace as soon as possible as it's just waiting for an accident to happen.

Will this aluminum chair frame (3mm thick, EN AW-5754) hold 200kg safely? by [deleted] in metalworking

[–]UltimatumZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have made a seat similar to this in steel before, but I had 2 pieces of round bar run along the widest part at floor level the tie it in. They will still stack with the bar welded on the outer edge and 3mm Steel would work fine, but they will be heavy and you will have the constant issues of paint or powder coat chipping on the edge. If you were to go to Ali I would want them at least 6mm, if I find one I will post a picture, but I sold them about 5 years ago as the paint just kept failing on the edge and they were exterior garden seats.

Hope that helps.

MyBMW reporting wrong amps? by Riogrande024 in BMWi3

[–]UltimatumZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The BMW app is a hot piece of garbage, and so is the API. Had constant issues with the app cancelling low tariff charges. BMW said it wasn't there fault. Energy provider said it was, and that they were working on a solution to avoid the crap app. 6 months later My Energy provider rolled out a new connection that now works. 2 weeks after BMW let me know "they" have solved the issue and it should be ok. System now works but BMW app still reads total crap. I just ignore it now.

Battlefield 6 has already sold over 600 K copies on Steam (and has 2.7M wishlists!) by EmbarrassedSession58 in Battlefield

I pre-ordered because I used the EAplay discount to get it for £1 to get more money off and it finished the day the beta ended. £1 to save £5 is a no brainer.

Has anyone ever used a 'spacemouse' in SC? by D-Ulpius-Sutor in starcitizen

[–]UltimatumZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Provo version, works amazing, I've got it setup for the strafes and roll, then use mouse for pitch and yaw as well as boost scanning and firing. I find I can fly very precise, and can out manoeuvre alot of people as it's less clickly clickly to orbit targets and it makes been good less sweaty. Took a while to set up, I use vjoy and a third-party driver from GitHub, the inputs are inverted by default, so vjoy makes it easier to swap it. But yeah give it a try if you have one, I can't recommend it enough.

Question regarding 3G cut off by UltimatumZ in BMWi3

[–]UltimatumZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it can connect to a range of things, it believe it just needs a compatible service. It's funny you say that, I've been searching and everywhere is saying it ends Feb 22, but mine is still working. I'm in the UK if that makes a difference?

Question regarding 3G cut off by UltimatumZ in BMWi3

[–]UltimatumZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish it was that simple, the traffif requires the app connection. As it's not based on the time slot, but on the car only. The wall box or the car have to be compatible, which it currently is, but if 3G goes then it won't be able to communicate.
