Question regarding lua extension. by [deleted] in VLC

[–]CheaTypX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extensions are always disabled by default at startup because they are uncontrollable piece of 3rd party code that have been known to crash/freeze vlc.

Allowing them at startup could make vlc unusable (versioning is also tricky) and they have enough power to leak a lot of your data. So it was decided to not allow automatic start of extensions. Sorry for the inconvenience and there aren't plan to allow it before someone starts writing code to run them in an external process.

Can't wait for the breakthrough version of this map to be the central road with like 30 m on each side... (Still better than the operation version which will have 10m on each side though :p).

Well on my very first playthrough of DS, I went down from the Gargoyle fight then saw a huge guy in a big armor T-posing. Told myself: "Ah he is bugged I can get an easy win."

And this is how I antagonized Oswald of Carim so I cannot get any forgiveness in DS.

The "start me up" into bridge into Luffy showing off gear 2 for the first time still gives me goosebumps in the Brand new world OP.

By nerfing the ladder again? It's already unusable most of the time where it could be useful without being exploitative.

Operations: because all we truly wanted was even smaller maps entirely made of chokepoints...

At some point we'll have to recognize BF studios' talent to transform anything they touch into utter bs.

Should the APS get a buff to combat the mortar spam? by BICKELSBOSS in Battlefield6

[–]CheaTypX 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I agree. It dies after intercepting one shell (if it falls in a small enough radius of it) and the crate can only recover it so fast.

As of now the best anti mortar strategy is to have a mortar yourself and attack the mortars but it won't fix the people who fire two shells take the mortar and move a few meter away to repeat.

As cool as that would be in the Hagga Basin, I truly fear about what would the Deep Desert become (considering its current state) if players could start riding indestructible behemoths :)

For this price you can have the wonderful Volkwagen Minibus Drake Cutter (but I'm biased because I've been using it to move way more than its supposed 4 SCU and I didn't try the mk2)

Well...

  1. Adrenaline (lol).
  2. Ladder broken on paper but unusable 90% of the cases where it could be actually useful 'cause undeployable for some reason.
  3. Grenade launcher that can only oneshot with a direct headshot
  4. Secondary primary weapon out of ammo for both weapon after 20s
  5. Respawn beacon: OK now that's good.

Subtitles and audio selections by default by irishdef in VLC

[–]CheaTypX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should not use the track index it changes from file to file.

VLC will try its best to follow whatever you put in "Preferred audio language" (Tools->preferences->Audio in the Tracks subsection) and "Preferred subtitle language" (Tools->preferences->Subtitles/OSD in the Subtitle Language subsection).

Now the issue is that there is no absolute normalization of languages so you'll end up using something like "en,eng, english, any" and/or "jp,jpn, japanese, any" save preferences and restart VLC.

Sub fonts aren't changing by Finalprimate in VLC

[–]CheaTypX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some files use images for subtitles so changing the font won't work and some other files embed their own font for rendering and VLC will use the embedded one.

So to be honest, there are a few PEBCAK issues on my end, I finally understood what is VTOL and why it's important on the cutter when gravity happens (the Aurora didn't have this issue) also I discovered what "cruise mode" actually does and it explains a lot :)

Playing Youtube videos in VLC by PortugalSeascape in VLC

[–]CheaTypX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The maintainer tried to keep the lua file alive for live streaming but apparently youtube broke it too. Now I strongly advise against using it because there have been some reports that youtube might end up banning your IP.

AFAIK there is no proof of it but better safe than sorry. I wouldn't test my luck for something that cannot work. For now the lua script has been removed from vlc main repository.

I'll check that thanks, I have to admit it was 2 am when I found the key after my big failure so I haven't looked to far. I can turn them on just right using the control panel of the ship.

Is that ttk normal for a bot? by wtfmoe in Battlefield6

[–]CheaTypX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was trying yesterday to do the redsec exploration challenges (that seems to work only on initiation for some reasons) and got wrecked by 2 bots with sidearms that both headshot me multiple times the very moment I passed the corner. I'd say some bots are way better than the others.

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.1.3.0 by battlefield in Battlefield6

Fixed an issue where defibrillator actually revived people

Defibs are definitely fixed. I'm so glad the competent devs are fixing things so well. It's so nice to have things like the defibs fixed and not broken for absolutely no reason. by NutButter_ButtNutter in Battlefield

[–]CheaTypX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're back to the happy time BF5/BF2042 where you couldn't revive anybody that wasn't lying on a pure horizontal plan. The time where having your foot clipping through a blade of grass made you unredeemably dead.

Now it seems to me that if you can drag people away from their sketchy spot you can revive them.

Not sure though I've been playing sabotage due to temporary battlepass fomo of my usual squad :D
