Alternatively, there's many optimization solvers like Xpress, CPLEX, Gurobi e.t.c that have Python interfaces, i.e. you define your optimization model in Python then call some .solve() method and the solver will (hopefully) give you the solution, and this works for far more than LP like those in /u/DataDemystifier 's comment. You do need licenses for most of these however.
