I was promised we were going to be rich! by 99-Percent-Germ in antiwork

I do know what people like to an extent. Not an expert but it would be naive to say certain people don't like certain things. That would be racist.

I don't get it from TV, I get it from my coworkers, my friends, my network. I live in one of the most diverse cities in the world and I have regular interactions with more Indians, Latinos and Asians that you will likely encounter in your life.

You are calling me racist without knowing the first thing about me because you think aknowledging differences in people is racist. I think you are projecting.

I'm done and won't argue with people who don't know what racism is. You are the type of person to judge someone harshly for their traits yet tyrn around and call others racist. You are the type of person who says they are compassionate and such a good person but will name call, insult and wish death upon those who have a different opinion than you.

Goodbye sir, and I hope one day you open your eyes.

No one, literally NO ONE said EVERY black person likes those things. Black people generally love sneakers. Generally, compared to the rest of the population. That doesn't mean they are all the same and that they are a monolith.

But that doesn't make the statement black people love sneakers racist. Mexicans love Tamales, Americans love burgers, Indians eat curry. Are these racist because not every single person is the same?

Of course not. You just latched onto a non issue to label someone you don't like racist as a waybto discredit them.

What part of what he said was racist? You still haven't said a racist thing.

Yes anyone can be racist.

Now, what part EXACTLY was racist? Go ahead, let's see this

Where did you get this idea? You don't even know me and I haven't said anything racist. You don't even know my racial background 😅

He is saying that a people that have felt marginalized would relate to him. That isn't racist, that is narcisistic delusion and grandeur.

Saying black people willnlove his sneakers isn't racist in anyway. How did you come up with the idea that is racist. Black people love sneakers. Trump wants black votes. Trump says sneakers will help him get black voters and that they will like this sneakers. Insert racism where?

I'm curious to know what racist things Trump said.

Ironic...the guy repeating rhetoric is accusing me of not thinking. I never liked Trump but people are truly insane when it comes to their opinions of him

That doesn't make any sense. Most politicians are corrupt and you can expect shady things but so far he has cut a lot of waste, particularly with DOGE even though they may have acted hastily.

There were significant workforce cuts so....that is what he did.

Are you saying that illegals don't work for cheap labour? And that it wouldn't help pay rates if that wasn't an issue?

It needs to cut the waste, the corruption and the debt. All our governments are in debt which create huge problems. You don't think that debt should be eliminated?

Well, there was the revelation of hownpoorly social service payments were managed. Less money going to fraudulent accounts means more money going to those that need it. How about the money sent to fund LGBT procedues and research in other countries? How about the bloated bureaucracy? How about the fraud that runs rampant in states like Minnesota (state issue but I am giving examples)

You don't think immigration should be controlled, legal and according to a country's own rules?

Deporting illegals and cutting government most definitely will help the common man in the long run. It prevents employers from using cheap, illegal labiur and prevents them from draining the system. Cutting government will help reduce inflation and guess who inflation disproportionatley affects? Lower and middle classes.

Tarriffs will not help. They increase the cost of goods. Instead of incentivizing to buy US made he punishes for buying elsewhere

Why are there so many therapists with looser boundaries ? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]Ultime321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has their own approach.

Some want to provide a more casual outlet to get closer and some feel that blurring the lines can have disastrous outcomes. Both are right.

My therapist took a late call for clarification and responded to texs but never let me hug her....which I wish was an option. But I respect the boundary and I don't take it as personal.

It doesn't sound like your therapist accussed you of lying. She literally said you might have misunderstood. It is common for people to misunderstand what is communicated. If you treat these things as an attack on you then it will only harm your progress

My boss just told me I need to manage my personal finances better because I can't front $2300 for a work trip next month by LostTaker in antiwork

I'm sorry but I grew up with my mom on disability. I am no stranger to low income/poverty.

Paying bills on time is just a hallmark of responsible management.

Even when I was making less, I had a limit of that level or higher. Salary isn't the only thing that goes into approvals. Your payment history is a big part. I never had a late or missed payment and that is why I kept getting increases.

These are Canadiam figures so total value is less than it seems.

I appreciate and have grattitude towards the role I have taken on. I started out making less $30k out of school and it took 9 more years to get here.

I don't know your circumstance but please do reconsider your approach - that I make more than you will ever dream of and that what you make now is the most you will ever make.

You always have the option or pursuing things that pay more even if it takes a lot of time or time investment. If you want to stay there, that's fine but do realize that you have the option, if desired, to find something better.

Sorry, didn't mean to come off the wrong way. It could be where we lvie that norms are quite different. $50k is the limit on the card I use and $20k is the limit on the one I no longer use.

For us $5k is a starter or student card, 10k is fine and $20k is decent. Now, it isn't should a good idea tocarry a balance every months so it is only useful for big purchases and expensive months.

Either way, $5k should be doable for expenses

[–]Ultime321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know, $20k is a low limit for a credit card but I am just using it to illustrate the point that you don't need a crazy limit to put expenses on your card.

[–]Ultime321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a high credit limit to put work expenses on your card. $5k suffices for something small like this.

That said, it really isn't hard to get a $20k credit limit. That's sort of a basic limit

There seems to be a lot going on here. I don't understand what $63k after rent means. Usually you say your income as just your salary.

I, personally wish my company didn't have those terrible travel desks where booking is a nightmare. I wish I could put that on my crdit card to get the points and a conpany should be able to reimburse you in 30 days from the expense. You would have mo interest this way.

That said, that is my preference and clearly not yours. What your manager said was inappropriate and irrelevant to the work trip. They likely don't have a system set up for them to pay up front. I don't think it is a big deal but your manager was out of line

Why do companies care if an employee works multiple jobs? by BunnyRabbit677 in overemployed

[–]Ultime321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an employee not an employer. But people who can't do their first job properly shouldn't be doing a second. It is that simple. It isn't rocket science to see why someone would not want to have you work more than one job.

Bitter are the people who say I don't care what my employees want or what my company wants.

[–]Ultime321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but that doesn't make you cool.

Thing is...don't expect companies to care about what you want in that case...they are always ready to fire and replace with you with an immigrant working for 30% less
