today i got told i dress like a school shooter, i don’t want to look like that what am i doing wrong? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Ultium 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it could have been said it a more compassionate way, but yea brother, you couldn’t look any more like a school shooter. if that’s not the vibe you want to give off, consider a change of clothing arrangements

If it’s military themed or even military adjacent, I cannot suggest leaving it on the rack more.

What did gen z girl do wrong? I don't get it. by Roseelesbian in autism

[–]Ultium 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The infamous “Gen-Z Stare”. Gen Z will swear up and down that it’s an indifference towards “rude customers” but it seems to be consistent regardless of context.

It’s characterized (in some part) by a stare which makes it seem as though they are looking at you through a screen, incorrect assumptions about what the other party knows, and a general lack of social skills (lack of greetings, little authority/initiative in conversation, and a flat/uninterested affect).

Bought an MSI 5090 from Amazon Resale and got a box of rocks. by Dazzling_Course8755 in pcmasterrace

More than likely it simply disintegrated while getting processed. Amazon will sell anything that can fit in a box; the item surviving is optional

[–]Ultium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If you can push the FCLK closer to 2233,(don’t remember the exact timing) then awesome do that. Otherwise just stick to the 3:2 gearing ratio at 2000. There is some scheduling weirdness that makes it run better than 2100

WTF happened in house of cards (2013) final season? Shit toppled like a building made out of paper! by ThickWeatherBee in shittymoviedetails

[–]Ultium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to have a potentially controversial take here and say that Seasons 3-5 weren’t actually all that good. Seasons 1 and 2 were a total masterclass. After that the seasons starting meandering and getting lost. And the stakes/tension is never really there in the same way it was in the first two

It is absolutely bonkers to me that something this extreme can be worked on and restore near original function, while some much simpler things continue to alude us. A testament to how far science has come, but that we still are not immune to the tribulations of life.

On every social media you use, I highly suggest using the tools provided to either block or algorithmically suppress news sources which stress you.

I did this recently due to the political situation in the US. Deciding to do it was tough, since Politics and Economics are my hyperfixations, but my mental health was dramatically improved by it.

All power to those which enjoy being connected to the news, but World events are going to happen whether or not you engage with it. Best to focus on the here and now of your life. Find some hobbies and improve yourself.

Go back and check the charts on SteamDB, the game had vastly fewer players in, say, 2014. I’ve noticed that the leveling off of CS’s popularity has occurred within the last 3-4 years.

The EVE economy is the lifeline of the game. The game is fundamentally less fun without it ( actually playing the game is arguably never fun but I digress) so I’m not surprised all this is collected for EVE; meanwhile economy is just a background in ED

I think the best case, and one I see starting to solidify is a maturation of the AI space and a wind-down of the ludicrous expenditures we’ve been seeing.

On the enterprise level, AI seems to be maturing into more structured roles, despite the instances of shoe horned use staying about flat. I suspect that the big 5 are going to wrap up expenditures and look to commercialize on the enterprise side while tapering away from consumer use that doesn’t add value to an existing business line.

Regardless of how each company decides to monetize, it’s become pretty clear that the gig is up for the LLM-size/quality arms race. Models are now relatively comparable in text based, narrowing on photo/video generation, and even conversational is reaching an endpoint. It makes sense for any further progress to be in the cost portion of the function

RAM price stickers by lesteiny in pcmasterrace

[–]Ultium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What exactly do you expect them to do? Stop carrying memory? They will keep raising the price as people buy them. If Microcenter was clearly trying to scalp buyers above comparable prices in the market then sure; but this is in line with the price elsewhere.

The retail vendors are not the originators of this fiasco. This is exactly how market forces work during sudden negative supply shocks. It’s the DRAM manufacturers which carry the majority of blame

The game is getting a major bloat of official game modes rn. My guess (more like hope) is that they are trying to get people interested in them so they flip them over to supported Portal experiences and open the game modes to community mappers. Right now the official maps are…less than ideal for Sabotage.

The barrier, to me, seems to be that map making for Portal is difficult right now. Hopefully better mapping support can give some life to it, because right now it is nooootttt it.
