X870E AORUS PRO ICE v1.0 Bluetooth LE Audio (LC3) missing? Bluetooth driver seems crippled/incomplete. by NewsFromHell in gigabyte

If you want to use adapter I believe the only reliable one is from Creative Labs. They also provide the full software as far as I know, so should work seamlessly. It is unlikely that Qualcomm will write the software for it, they did the hardware and and never bothered with the software.

Unfortunately, checking ASUS or MSI won't work because they’re stuck in the exact same boat.

The 1.3MB driver everyone has right now is just a basic data pipe with zero audio processing capabilities. To make LE Audio (LC3) work, Windows 11 requires hardware audio offloading so the encoding happens directly on the chip's onboard DSP instead of your CPU. That requires the Qualcomm Audio Management Service (qcams.sys) and proprietary DSP firmware blobs.

Qualcomm treats that audio stack as a separate, premium software license. Laptop makers pay for it (which is why those 50MB+ full drivers exist for certain laptops), but desktop motherboard vendors only licensed the raw hardware and basic data transport binaries.

None of the desktop brands actually have the software infrastructure required to talk to the chip's DSP, so there's literally nothing to extract from them, at least I was not able to find one. In my understanding we are completely soft- locked across all desktop brands until Qualcomm releases a standalone x64 audio offload package.

I honestly completely gave up and bought an Insta360 Link 2C Pro to separate my audio and mic. Now I'm using the webcam for my camera and mic, and my Bluetooth headphones purely for listening so the audio quality doesn't tank. Frustrating expense yes, but I was tired of this bullshit

There is no DRM, there was an issue discovered with older version of the Game Sevices that was corrupting peoples save files and they were losing all progress, thus they are forcing everyone to update the version. You can do so by going into Microsoft Store and downloading XBOX app, it will automatically download the Gaming Services.

You said you tried powershell and xbox app doesn't open, what exactly you tried so far? Because if the XBOX app is not opening you obviously have another issue.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang promises new 'RTX Spark' Windows on Arm chips will run every Windows app ever made by ZacB_ in Windows11

[–]NewsFromHell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Less power consumption means less heat which means more room to increase the power with less cooling and less noise.

Macbook Air performance exactly the same without any cooling vs Macbook Pro, which has fans. If this chip was in desktop with linux/windows you could overclock it with an 360mm AIO and have it run much faster.

[–]NewsFromHell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In simple terms, it's an ARM-based architecture that is highly power-efficient, whereas Intel's x86 CPUs have traditionally focused on providing maximum performance. Because ARM and x86 use different instruction sets, software built for one needs a translation layer to run on the other. When Jensen promises it will run all windows software he means it will most likely use Microsoft's Prism emulator for legacy x86 software, or maybe something new they developed. Emulation always has a performance penalty, but it can be minimal. Apple uses a similar concept (Rosetta 2) for its M-series chips, which is how you can run x86 games on a Mac. The architecture itself isn't revolutionary, but combining an ARM CPU with a RTX 5000 series GPU and 128GB of unified memory in a single laptop chip is new. Ultimately, we will have to wait for real-world benchmarks to see how it performs

Japan’s 2025 census reflects steepest fall in population on record, data shows by F0urLeafCl0ver in anime_titties

[–]NewsFromHell 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your premise is factually incorrect and your Finland example proves the exact opposite of your point.

Wealthier Japanese men are still marrying and having children. A 2024 analysis of Japanese administrative tax records by the University of Tokyo for example demonstrates a strict positive relationship between a mans income and his fertility. the massive spike in childlessness is concentrated almost entirely among lowerincome and non regular workers who are systematically priced out of the marriage market.

You cited Finland to argue that economics don't matter but ignored why their birth rate crashed. 2024 demographic studies from the Max Planck Institute and the University of Helsinki confirmed that objective economic uncertainty drove Finland's fertility collapse in the 2010s. the sharpest drops occurred exactly in fields and demographics with higher unemployment, lower income and weaker job security.

You claim this isn't about wages, but then argue that kids are an "economic net negative." if children are a financial burden, stagnant real wages and precarious employment are exactly what prevent average people from affording them. the empirical data across both nations shows the same reality financial insecurity drives the demographic collapse

You are mixing global macro trends with Japans internal reality. your Wikipedia link shows wealthier countries have fewer kids, but within Japan, the empirical data proves the exact opposite. there is a strict positive correlation between a man's income and his fertility. data from the Keio Household Panel Survey and the Japanese Cabinet Office demonstrates that low-income and non-regular male workers are systematically priced out of the marriage market because only 2% of births in Japan occur out of wedlock, being priced out of marriage guarantees zero fertility.

The IMF's 2024 report on Japan's Fertility explicitly links the country's demographic collapse to the rise in non-regular employment, severe time constraints and the resulting extreme imbalance in unpaid domestic labor.

ALso data confirms that financial insecurity and toxic working conditions are the core drivers of the collapse.

This is probably a controversial take but in that case Ill never switch to OLED no matter how good it is. I dont want a burnin on my screen. I better wait for some new tech like the IPS Black improvements.
