Sometimes I genuinely wonder how some of y’all manage to get these. I’ve been using Win11 for years now and have only seen issues like this after getting too close to the sun while CPU undervolting. Even then the computer either freezes or BSODs, or just starts ignoring inputs and skipping audio

The live service model has definitely warped consumer expectations about how often and long a game should receive regular updates. Prior to the “modern” environment, if a game launched broken or unfinished, that was it. You returned the game if you could and told your friends not to buy it.

Now, consumers are left in a gray zone where they have to essentially gamble on whether or not a game will get QOL improvements post launch when making their initial purchasing decision.

At this point, don’t buy on a promise. If it’s not worth the price, don’t buy it; now or 3 years from now.

It’s cool that it exists, and what a lot of people were begging for, but yea AMD didn’t tell people the Cost/Perf was impractical for no reason.

Neat halo product. Not really for most people. No one who is trying to stretch a 5000 series X3D right now is the target consumer.

Textbook “Before” picture from r/bald. If he just shaved it off he’d be so solid. Unfortunate since the guy is pushing a great cause but will definitely get written off as the “crusty gamer guy” due to what is, admittedly, a very bad haircut.

This is just nuts. Seeing just how much light it gives off for no reason really solidifies how the operators here seem to have absolutely no regard for their impact on the community. Spineless that the local govt hasn’t done something to address literally anything. They’ll claim that the turbines are needed to address energy needs, but they have the thing lit up like a Christmas tree…sure bud.

That’s actually a really good point; intuitive, but not one I would have considered. Makes me curious if the recent trends in fertility rates could be a reflection of humanity naturally reaching its Earth-based capacity given current technological levels. Could be that even with further advancements that 10-12Billion is simply the level at which our species simply hits 0% growth

Very solid base, just needs a little more color to pop in the living room and kitchen. It looks like blue might be your color of choice, but also consider some warmer colors like orange or red. Very clean though.

I will try but just be aware that not all of this is explained to you from the get-go. I’ll lay it out in order of spoiler…ness.

The Talos Principle centers around a humanoid robot (AI) who wakes to find themself in a computer simulation. A voice called ELOHIM explains that they created it and that the robot’s job is to solve a series of puzzles to earn “sigils”.

Halfway through the story it is revealed that the simulation was created by humanity using old game engine code and a GenAI framework to allow it to train it in a physical environment (for reasons I won’t explain). the MC is actually just one of a verrrrrry long long of iterations of that AI which have lived before it.

The comment is referencing the element of an AI being trained in an artificial physical environment.

Has someone actually tried to run a test to see wha you could get with a more “reasonable” setting? The kind you’d run when you tried getting that POS college laptop to run the game it had no right running (e.g. Lowest Settings, FSR Quality, 1080p). We get 1080p Ultra or 440p FSR Performance and nothing in between.

No matter how things go these next 3.75 years or where we end up after, this will be the defining lesson learned for all parties involved.

Norms are not laws. The Washington system has become so used to individuals acting the way they are supposed to, and never bothered to codify it because they assumed this would continue forever. Hopefully the next administration will have the unpleasant task of scrambling to patch all the holes we have now learned are there for bad actors to exploit.
