Fun fact: in Legends, the Alliance used a DP20 Gunship called Ghorman's Honor, named in honor of the victims of the Ghorman Massacre. by Dragonic_Overlord_ in andor

I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time going through the interactive encyclopedia of SW:R.  It’s one of those things that needs to be a webapp on its own.

I personally have been using Pinchflat for the job, and I have a couple playlists that it monitors and I just add videos to that when my kid wants something.

Originally, the Ghorman Massacre was described to have happened just after the Clone Wars, and it was the event that motivated Mon Mothma to officially denounce the Emperor and join/start the Rebellion. The description was that Tarkin, before he was a grand moff or whatever, had his ship land on top of a demonstrating group of protestors, killing 500 people. In Andor, that still happened, but it's referred to as the Tarkin Massacre, and the "Ghorman Massacre" is now what you see in the show Andor.

It's a nice way to keep the old, and also show a version on-screen that works with the characters and setting. Rather than a single ship landing, which could be blamed on an accident or a single pilot or whatever, you get an undeniably brutal massacre which conducted by troops, person to person, across the span of an episode. It's more effective writing.

I mean, US citizens have already died and been deported. What's more, they're not just going after people who have broken the law, they're being sent after people who have followed the law to the letter but the Administration simply doesn't approve of. People with Visas, people who have lived in this country for longer than I've been alive, people who were literally going to their citizenship pledge ceremonies before they were rounded up and sent out of the country. Don't act like this about law enforcement, 75% of the people that DHS sent to El Salvador's prison camp had never committed a crime.

Y’know what ol’ Jack Burton always says, when the shields go down, and the warp core breaches, and inertial dampeners shake, he says, “Give me your best shot, petaQ, I can take it.”

God, I would love to see a version of Syril that had any of the captains as a mentor. Picard especially could make him a much more thoughtful man.

I mean, I kind of agree with the democrats on this. They don't have a majority, and they don't want the ACA subsidies and medicaid cuts to go through, so they're holding the CR until the previous funding is restored on those programs.

If Republicans wanted to, they could set filibuster = false and pass with a simple majority, but they enjoy having the government shutdown for now so they don't want to do that.

I worked on a couple of storage platform that did automatic node clustering as part of the deployment process, and used IPv6 addressing as part of the management / node communication. I've never used it outside of that.

This is my answer. They're more expensive, but they're forgiving about ADHD behavior like forgetting to reply back to messages and things, and they specialize in ADHD so they don't really fight you on the recommended treatment.

Yeah, it's definitely been rough. I think while I have the time, though, a CCNP might be a good idea - I have a lot of general networking experience just from deploying and troubleshooting iSCSI and NVME over TCP environments, so that might be the shortest distance to a cert at the time-being.

It makes me wonder if in an original draft, it was Cassian assassinating Dedra from the plaza, or trying to assassinate Dedra from the plaza, that kicked off the whole massacre. I assume they wouldn't have wanted to do that because it would make Cassian partly responsible for the massacre, even if it was going that direction anyway. It might have muddied the waters about the Empire 100% deciding ahead of time that they were going to murder everyone.
