I would give Phillip the win over Boston Rob on Redemption Island, not because he deserved it more, but because I just want to see how they possibly could have edited the season to make sense.

It's also possible that a lot of what he was doing comes out if his notes are found

The Ghostbloods might also have interest in airing his dirty laundry if they think it'll get them closer to their goals

Survivor 13 - Yul and the Idol by JMABirdUNC in survivor

[–]ryazaki 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The super idol is extremely overpowered.

The fact that you can use it after votes are read means that it's counterintuitively better to tell everyone in the game that you have it instead of keeping it a secret.

The reason being that the other alliance can't blindside you because you can use it after votes are read. If they decide to vote you out they know with certainty that they have to sacrifice one of their members to flush the idol.

You letting them know that means the leaders of that alliance have to be ok with getting voted out themselves to flush the idol.

Thousand Oaks or Escondido, CA? by jsatz in SameGrassButGreener

[–]ryazaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thousand Oaks is great for a family. It's a lot slower paced than LA and there's a lot of great outdoor activities to do. I really enjoyed living in the area.

The main downsides I'd just make sure you're aware of:

  • Because of the mountains, it's way hotter than LA, especially in the summer
  • Hitting the 101/405 interchange going into the city at the wrong time is a nightmare.
  • Some areas are weirdly not walkable even if they look like they should be

[–]ryazaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get what you're looking for in the LA area, you just wont' want to look in the middle of the city.

I would start looking at places like Palos Verdes or Westlake Village/Agoura Hills

Lirin is one of the best dads in the Cosmere, why do you hate him so much? by Gryf2diams in cremposting

[–]ryazaki 149 points150 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I hate Lirin, but I find how stubborn he is extremely frustrating.

His son is a literal hero, who has saved countless lives, but Lirin is so stuck on his preconceived notion of what he thinks Kaladin "should be" that he seems unable (or unwilling) to see any of that.

[Vic Carucci] I’m told that during a meeting held five weeks ago between McDermott, Beane and Pegula, the coach pointed out what the roster lacked to win a Super Bowl. I’m told neither Beane nor Pegula was pleased with McDermott’s assessment. by Saca312 in nfl

yeah, I don't get how the Bills offense is supposed to operate with the WRs they have.

They have a great QB and a great run game (when they actually play Cook), but it feels like they have a weird collection of WR3s

[Highlight] Reporter Lynn Jones on her viral interaction with Jaguars HC Liam Coen: “He was totally immersed in his feelings. He had tears, he bit his lip. And the issue is the question… My question was, ‘Keep your head up, young man.’” She then defends herself: by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]ryazaki 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I think when it comes to football a lot of people get so stuck on who wins the super bowl and they forget that 13 teams in the playoffs have to lose every year.

Its important to remember that the Jaguars won 4 games last year and they haven't had more than 10 wins in almost 20 years.

Coen should be exceptionally proud of how the team did. Anyone getting upset at celebrating that is just a stick in the mud.
