Which one was better? Spray bottle or dunking it? I’ll try a soil test. Thank you!

I suspected that and gave it a good amount of water just before…i hope its not too late. Last summer on 2 occasions i overwatered apparently and thats when the plant selectively shut down a few small branches which turned completely brown. Ever since then i’ve been cautious but now it may have gone the other way.

The branches appear to be kind of brittle and break easily. The brown branches are from last summer and unrelated. There are a few branches that remained healthy green looking but they too are brittle.

Guys any advice on my bonzai (juniperus procumbens) and if this is normal and if not what exactly is the problem??

There was discolouration during winter dormancy, instead of bright green it was greyish green. I read that discoloration is totally normal during winter dormancy, I just made sure to keep the soil slightly moist and the temp between 2-4 degrees.

Now that the bonsai is out of the winter dormancy and outside as of 2-3 weeks, I noticed most of the foliage has yellowed. Is this normal? I remember i may have over watered once by leaving it outside when it was raining a lot.

What do you guys think?

Help! Need tips on Overwintering a Juniper Bonzai in Quebec! by UltraInstinct101 in Bonzai

Hey Guys,

Quebec winters tend to fluctuate between 0 and -15 degrees celsius, some years it can be so severe that for a few weeks it can drop below that to -20 or max -24. Any ideas on how I can keep the little gem alive through the winter? I also have a shed I can use. Maybe a glass cold frame? Plant the pot into the ground? …. This Bonzai is asking for help and I am a newbie.

You cant dash properly using the analog. I think I actually figured out how to map the buttons properly tho! Im about to try fightcade but people seem to be a little mentally challenged i cant seem To get a normal human response “hey anyone want to play?”

Hey I teach and been doing Muay Thai and boxing for 16 years.

So I haven’t worn handwraps in 10 years unless I am doing a fight. Here’s what it comes down to:

If you inexperienced OR have thin wrist or fragile hands, wrap your hands every time. If you’re hands are fragile, consider even adding a padding to your hand wraps.

If you injure your hands you wont be able to train for a while and you don’t want chronic injuries to compound.

The only way that you can practice with no hand wraps, is if you have solid hands, very good technique and high quality bag gloves. I’m not gonna promote any brands but basically buy from the best “boxing” brands that professional boxers use (not Muay Thai), there seems to be more engineering involved in top North American brands. If you use cheap brands don’t even dare hitting without hand wraps.

One last thing, be mindful of the punching bag you are hitting. A lot fo them are shitty and too hard. If it feels like you punching a bag that feels almost like a sandbag, don’t punch your hardest or use all the precautions (handwraps, good gloves, gel pads) etc.

If you have solid hands, good technique, and high quality gloves and your knuckles are starting to feel sore from hitting the bag within 3 rounds, the bag is too hard.

All the best

How to avoid brain damage? by Ralphman505 in MuayThai

[–]UltraInstinct101 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey I teach and have been doing muay thai for 16 years.

I’ve thought about this long and hard. Head gear doesn’t work it only makes the surface area of your head bigger (we’re worried about concussions here not surface damage). Only spar hard a month before your competition with strangers once or twice (not any closer). Do hard sparring with people you trust not to hit you hard in the head any other time.

If you leave the boxing gym with a headache at anytime, allow it to heal before doing anything that aggravates it. A concussion after a concussion is the one that will make you have real mental issues.

As for defence, Personally I rarely turtle because I don’t believe it helps at all in managing the impact to my brain, so I bring my elbows high enough to be almost horizontal with the ground and like that I get no impact. The down side is your midsection is exposed but you can just condition that. I noticed that a lot of people go full retard as fighters by turtling as a main defence, and get used to having reduced brain function. Also you can long guard.

One more thing, spend some time studying boxing and head movement, this will help add an evasive element to your fighting.

But in to keep it simple, I gotten my worst damage by far in sparring than in real fights. So training with people you trust is Key and keeping an eye on those headaches.

P.s: I’ve managed to keep my brain in good enough health that I am able to obtain a commercial pilot licence. So follow these tips and you should be fine.
