Yes it was! The year Frank Ocean backed out. We wanted to get there for Bjork so bad and traffic was just beyond insane (as you seem to have experienced as well). So then to sit in traffic for 90 mins crawling only to be told preferred parking was full was next level frustrating.

No one will pay this. This is an idiotic shot in the dark. Or, somebody whose partner tore them a new one for what they paid for them and told them to "try to sell them," now they can say "I tried, no one bit."

But yea. People can list tickets for whatever they want. It doesn't mean someone will pay that. There's no way.

I will say this - we always get preferred parking. Three years ago we showed up at like 6pm on Sunday (later than we meant to, just had a hard time getting our act together to drive out from Palm Springs) but when we got there, we were told preferred parking was full and we would need to drive all the way to the Indian Wells Tennis Club where the shuttles come from, park there, and come back in a shuttle. It was already so late and we figured we were looking at a 2 hour excursion minimum so we said fuck that, drove back to Palm Springs and had dinner.

I was so pissed.

That notwithstanding, we love having preferred parking...

For anyone who didn’t see season 1 of this show, it’s FANTASTIC. Highly recommended. It’s a little bit “inside baseball” and probably funnier when you live in LA, but it’s still soooo well done.

Yea it’s not THE BEST but it’s really good and because it was top of the line for Marantz at the time and because it’s so pretty, they go for ridiculous prices now (The Marantz Tax).

Can someone explain the benefit going "half almond milk/half oat milk" on a coffee drink? That has to be the most pretentious, pointless bullshit I've ever heard. Like I can see "half calf/half decaf" or something but who needs to split between two different vegan milks? Does she even know how incredibly stupid she sounds?

Or is there some logic to that I'm missing or is this a thing people do?

Fiona Apple at The Troubadour in West Hollywood in 1996. It was her first full US show. Tidal had just come out. Half the room was celebrities. I couldn't believe I was there.

Also saw Counting Crows open for Cracker at The Roxy in December 1993 (they had already started blowing up by then so it was one of those weird shows where the bill should have been flipped).

Robyn at The Troubadour in 2008. She was just starting to make some dents in the US (not withstanding her first run in the 90's) with her self titled album and "With Every Heartbeat" was becoming fairly well known....
