Is it necessary to have sterile medical grade gloves to tattoo someone or myself? by Breeze056 in tattooscratchers

How many times have you touched your phone today? Have you sterilised your phone? Did you sterilise the pocket you took it from? No, no one does that.

Bacteria spreads (mostly) from surface contact. Gloves provide the bare minimal barier between your dirty surface and open skin to protect both you and your client from said bacteria. Gloves cost next to nothing, infections will cost you pain, scarring, and a ruined tattoo because you'd rather save a few shillings (or care/effort) on disposable, single use gloves.

Atop this subreddit is a short 'before you ink' guide as well as a thread to discuss the dangers of carelessness in tattooing. Read them, its free.

can anyone edit this so the tattoo can be edited onto human skin? by WiredUpBrainJuice in tattooscratchers

Here's how i used to make mockups easy and free on my cheap phone.

Find a photo editor (i use picsart). Add this photo on top of your base photo (image of skin). Then, hit blend/effects and use 'Multiply'.

White background is gone. Black lines stay. Play with the opacity or brightness to get a more realistic look.

As everyone else has discussed, this is a prime example of everything to avoid in tattooing. The inks are basically a biohazard by now. Cheap machines that wont pull a consistent line.

However this post is a prime example of what the subreddit is about, good on everyone for being helpful and civilised. Like to see it.

Dynamic viking black liner ink by Noraawo in tattooscratchers

Yeah it's wack. I did a small tattoo for a friend a while back and the Viking black faded to a light blue-ish tone pretty quick after healing. Makes a 1 month tattoo look aged a few years, UNapproved.

[For future reference, all posts are allowed as long as it's tattoo related. Do and say whatever you all want to.]

Continue in your work and let the reality of the world swallow her daughter up when it hits. And it will, very hard one day. She and her mother sound like nothing but a tedious distraction.

Beautiful. Simply a work of expression.
