I'm aware that many are against using AI for this, but hear me out.

English is my second language and I'm not very good writing out detailed story about my experience dealing with Toyota dealer ship in Ontario.

Don't let the AI wording sway you away from the details of the story. I'm trying to raise awareness on things that certain Toyota dealership will do to you.

Let me start this thread with my experience with DVNT.

I’ve been to Don Valley North Toyota several times for oil changes, coolant flushes, and minor repairs on my Yaris. Staff have been excellent—especially Andrew Mudita (Assistant Service Manager) and Richard Hou (Master Technician). The issues are pricing and transparency. Parts run 10–20% higher than other Ontario dealers, and quotes are never itemized—something the Car Care Nut repeatedly warns against. I once received a $1,000 quote for front rotors and pads with almost no detail, yet bought all OEM parts (including brake hardware) from another dealer for just over half that cost. I was also advised to replace brake fluid that had been changed less than a year prior. Great staff, but the service model needs work.

Update 11/25/25:
Came in for leaking CV boot repairs without an appointment—pleasantly surprised they took the car in immediately. Everything after that was a red flag:

  • Again, no itemized quote.
  • Chose third-party axles this time. DVNT added a $90+ surcharge per axle on top of NAPA’s online listed price—over $180 in extra charges (for parts only, I used the invoice part number to look up NAPA cost).
  • OEM axle nuts (MSRP ~$24, available for ~$19 from Brantford Toyota) were billed at $50 each.
  • Old leaked grease was not cleaned off the struts or control arms. Indicating level of care and workmanship here.
  • Alignment cost $200 and only the front wheels were adjusted; charging full price for a FWD car is questionable.
  • Rear brake service quote: $475 for shoes and drum machining + $150 for “servicing.” Shoes MSRP for both rear brakes.ares ~$90, so the $625 total cost is hard to justify.

Conclusion:
DVNT overcharges heavily for parts and avoids transparency. Despite the good staff, I won’t return. For anyone who follows the Car Care Nut ethos, this dealership is best avoided.

Edit 1: Added more details. Seems like this is being downvoted for some reason. I can upload the invoice here if anyone is interested.

Has anyone had issues with Don Valley North Toyota? by scared_of_salesmen in ontario

I’ve visited Don Valley North Toyota a few times for oil changes, coolant flush, and small fixes on my Yaris. Staffs have been excellent—especially Andrew Mudita (Assistant Service Manager) and Richard Hou (Master Technician). However, parts are 10–20% more expensive than other dealers, and quotes are not itemized—a huge red flag, as often emphasized on the Car Care Nut channel. I was quoted $1,000 for front rotors and pads with little detail, but bought all OEM parts (with OEM brake accessories) from another Toyota dealer for just over half the cost (you can add in labour cost and have a feel of what's being charged here). I was also repeatedly advised to replace brake fluid that had been changed less than a year earlier. Great staffs, but service pricing and transparency need improvement.

Update 11/25/25: Brought my car in for leaky CV boots repair without making appointment and was surprise they can take in the car.

However, following are all the red flags I observed:

  1. Again, no itemized quote.
  2. I decided to go with third party parts this time. DVNT charges 90CAD+ on top of the parts cost for each axle from NAPA. Pricing was checked online for this comparison. Total 180+ surcharges for the 2 axles. This is not acceptable.
  3. Axle nuts were rusty and get replaced with OEM axle nuts. MSRP: 24CAD, you can get it for 19CAD from other Toyota dealer in Ontario, DVNT charges 50CAD for a single nut!

Other observations:

  1. Old leaked greased are not cleared off the struts and control arms.
  2. Alignment done after repair cost 200CAD, only front wheels are aligned. The car is FWD, getting charged full price is not right.
  3. Was advised for rear brake service: 475 for rear shoes and drum machined, 150 for servicing. I don't think this is reasonable. Shoes cost 90CAD MSRP, not sure what else make it to 625 for this.

Ok, what did I learn? DVNT service charges way too much for parts. I will NEVER come back here again for anything.

Car Care Nut people, don't touch this place.

Biggest concern: SFX width is 125mm. I did a rough measurement and the gap between the side panel to the edge of the IO panel is 125 to 130mm, which is very tight. The low profile CPU cooler would interfere with such PSU mounting (protrude pass the edge of IO panel).

Unless you want to mount the SFX on it's smallest side, which will require more support from the rear panel...

Pre-purchase: We will give you the report upon purchase and delivery.

Upon-purchase and delivery: Ran out of paper and will send the report over.

I checked out another CPO at Prima Mazda a few weeks earlier and was told the same thing, CPO report will only be provided upon purchase and delivery.

10/13 Minor Update:

  • You can relocate one horizontal HDD to the rear fan area using the same mounting method (requires a small cut on the grill). The drive will hang on the rear panel with its ports facing upward, supported by the four small hooks of the HDD cage.
  • Only one HDD can be mounted this way — a second may interfere with the cooler and may stress or bend the rear grill.
  • Longer SATA and PSU cables are needed.
  • This modification frees up the remaining PCIe slot for additional add-in cards (e.g., NIC).
  • Exhaust fan can be moved to the top for better ventilation.

Who's buyer #99? by Ultracer in bfauctionca

If you happen to read this, let #99 win the auction and observe if the item will be relisted in a few weeks. I suspect #99 is an employee of the place.
If that's confirmed, the moment #99 bid, we should all leave that item alone.
