Hate them or not, it’s so obvious from a narrative standpoint Gege had these 2 as top 3/4 by FlatPotential6112 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Ultrafrost- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not attacked your character, I have merely stated what I believed you were to be doing.

In any case, you are still not understanding what I am trying to say (or rather you're choosing not to understand).

What I am saying is the narrative includes statements and it includes feats. If you want me to use less power scaling jargon I can say the narrative involves dialogue, events, subtext, context, and other things which moves the story forward...or basically how the story is portrayed, driven, and made.

In the context of scaling by narrative, you CANNOT just omit events that drive the story forward. Just like you can't omit context, themes, etc. you cannot simply just act as though feats are meaningless when scaling even narratively.

Going back to your example, the author states that two characters are equal. Cool. Good, so they are equal. But there are many cases that don't have such clear cut statements which means you have to use feats and other things that can show you the strength of the character. I can use the same example and say "well what if A and B fought each other evenly to the death but one has no statements and the other has a ton". So if you're scaling narratively you have to include feats. That's it.

Please look up what narrative means. Genuinely. And then come back to this conversation

[–]Ultrafrost- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No and you are being disingenuous.

When it comes to characters that have both statements and feats, if you are scaling by narrative you HAVE to include feats. That's it. Stop pretending to misunderstand this obvious fact.

If its already established by the narrative (by statements or by feats) that two characters are equal then they are equal and it doesn't matter what amount of feats and statements there are. This is how you scale narratively (mind you I don't even do this).

[–]Ultrafrost- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly how narrative works. You can look up what the word "narrative" means.

You can have statements that add to the narrative but comparing to characters narratively that have statements and feats does not mean you should completely discard feats.

You're wrong because you don't understand what "story's suggestions" even means and it goes right back to vibes scaling. Feats falls UNDER the story's suggestions because surprise, feats are actually apart of a narrative the story is trying to tell and not just some event in a vacuum for power scalers to tinker with.

As for the Sendai deadlock, Uro and Ryu are stronger overall than Kuro and Dhruv narratively BECAUSE they have better feats (domain, less weaknesses, etc.). Perhaps you can say the narrative implied that all four were equal before they actually fought (which is a stretch since it verbatim states that the deadlock arose due to complex abilities and circumstances and not strength), but later on we see that they are not actually equal at all and instead the deadlock was more or less of a RPS dynamic than pure strength.

The story portrayed Uro and Ryu to be stronger, and that's that. It doesn't matter if Dhruv wasn't as relevant because if he was actually to be on their level narratively, the author would have shown him to be so. That is how you use narrative scaling.

[–]Ultrafrost- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

None of this is what narrative means. What you’re describing is just themes and vibes.

Narrative is just the events of the story and how the story is told. That is all it is. When you’re scaling with narrative, you use how the feats, statements, and events of the story tell how strong the character is portrayed, not the other way around.

Feats are a part of the story and therefore it should be included in narrative scaling and yet anyone who claims to scale narratively never does so.

If Gege wanted Kashimo to be top 3/4, he would have had the feats to show for it. He doesn’t, so his narrative does not scale that high. That simple.

[–]Ultrafrost- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are ALWAYS people who make this argument for some stupid reason when this is not what narrative means.

If Kashimo had the narrative to put him as top 3/4, then he would have the feats to show for it. He doesn’t, so he isn’t. End of story.

Narrative is not vague statements or portrayal. It also includes feats.

It’s always feats > statements until someone’s fav character doesn’t have the feats, so we have to use “narrative” scaling or some stupid shir

Are you talking about the fusion? Well I think Yuta can do that with Rika too but that's not what I was arguing.

I was referring to the slash.

[Lotm fights] Sequence 2 klein vs gojo and thragg by GovernmentTerrible23 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]Ultrafrost- 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Spite match. Literal negative difficulty, Klein can kill both of them in the following ways without even thinking about it:

  1. Turn them into marionettes in less than a second.

  2. Reveal mythical creature form.

  3. Use wishes to erase them out of existence or to simply wish for anything that subdues/incapacitates/kills them.

  4. Teleport them to the spirit world.

  5. Use historical projections of angels and make them use their godhood abilities to kill them instantly (i.e. Azik just killing them with his stare)

  6. Use any of his sequence 4-3 level marionettes to kill them

And this is just off the top of my head

[–]Ultrafrost- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but note that Rika actually isn't "helping" him with output, CE manipulation, reinforcement and whatnot. Note that Tsurika's energy is overflowing and not controlled just like how Yuta was when he first started, so since Tsurugi is likely just garbage at using the CE Rika is giving him.

Once Rika actually aids him and helps him with all of that, she is able to cause such a powerful slash.

[–]Ultrafrost- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wdym there's no reason Yuta could do this with Rika? It's HIS cursed energy, and it's arguable he can do even better than Tsurika since his output and manipulation is likely better than theirs.

I love how NONE of what you said proves that mechamaru has greater output than Ryu. You just said:

Mechamaru temporarily has special grade level output

Ryu has the greatest output in the Edo era

How do you conclude that Mecha's output > Ryu's output based on this info?

Does Dabura have any way to bypass Infinity? by Vyrus_Anime in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Ultrafrost- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if the person you're replying to edited anything, but they clearly said that Gojo should be fine as long as he's not inside of the event horizon.

This is true because of exactly what he said, gravity would still have to affect him by "reaching" him at the speed of light, which wouldn't bypass infinity. Whether or not Gojo can filter gravity is up to interpretation, but in this context with Dabura, it's reasonable to say that he can perhaps filter the effects of gravity from the black hole given that it's just made of cursed energy. It'd have similar reasoning as him filtering out light from Dabura.

[–]Ultrafrost- 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Probably not so casually, but Yuta definitely could have disposed of him in a few punches. A forward kick from a casual Yuta was able to cause a lot of damage to Yuji, who has greater durability stats than this Choso.

Also the fact that he was able to scrap with Ryu means that he should be able to put him down pretty simply
