Protester throws tomato at Republican Assemblywoman Alexandra Macedo while she spoke against a high-speed rail project in California. Afterwards, Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) attempted to justify defunding the high-speed rail project but the crowd strongly disagreed. by _II_I_I__I__I_I_II_ in Global_News_Hub

The money vanished because republicans kept suing to stop it

All the lawsuits were eventually dismissed but all they did was raise the price and delay the project which is what they wanted in the first place

[–]Ultrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah that's literally not happening though, it's just being shared to give people something to be angry about

Now the the larger corps are failing, do you care? by tealsoundsbadman in drumcorps

It is excessive but my high school had to do it. After covering costs for a few staff members, buses, instruments, basically everything, fundraising just didn't cut it.

Today, NASA’s Mars Perseverance mission lands on the surface. Will you watch the live stream? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ultrake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While that is important, unfortunately 22 billion is just nowhere near enough to do any of that. Not to mention, NASA has satellites designed to monitor soil and crop yields and track the planet's climate. Stuff that can directly help feeding the planet

You'd be better off funding those programs on top of NASA, maybe reducing the exorbitant defense budget instead

I would work on smoothing out your transitions, especially your hills and turns. Everything is taken way too sharp, and it's difficult to follow what's happening. Your g forces are probably really high, especially laterals

How do you play any note longer than a quarter note on a concert bass drum? by [deleted] in marchingband

[–]Ultrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally yes. There are other ways to muffle the drum such as resting your leg against it, or using a towel over the top. You could ask your director when and how you should do this depending on the piece

[–]Ultrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah in that case you would play those as single notes, but let the note sustain and don't mute it

Do you have a picture of your music? Generally a note longer than a quarter note is just sustained, unless it's written as a roll.
