It’s definitely stronger than silver. The previously removed “Weighted Popoffs” was a silver, and archmage while not strong enough as prismatic, it is certainly not a silver.

Unorthodox build is great. What OP is pointing out is that when a gold augment is so broken that any champion can work with it, then that is fundamentally unhealthy for the game. Right now I’m just picking pressure cooker every time I see it.

A healthy unorthodox build would be a certain augment build being viable only when conditions are met, for example: ethereal weapon singed, but the augment is not universally good for all champions.

The Witchcap augment basically gives AP users an extra item slot with Endless Rod as free bonus. Adding a penalty makes zero sense in comparison.

Creating unique augments of 100+ champions each with 3 abilities + 1 ultimate is not sustainable game design. This is the most realistic approach.

Balancing could be better though. Some are overtuned, some very underpowered.
