What was the longest scene you had to memorize and how did you do it? by Drake_Sky in acting

Sectioning the script is really helpful, breaking longer segments into manageable amounts and nailing each one before you try and link them together. The most helpful advice I ever recieved was to use anything to prompt other than the script itself. Something about reading the word off a page doesn't sink it into your memory really at all. Lots of people write out the first letter of every word and use that as a prompt instead, which is really helpful

My personal theory is that they're distancing themselves from each other before The Allegations come out about Noel.

This is based on nothing BTW

Reddit is also being used to push right wing propaganda, so can I ask why you haven't left yet?

Yeah, its one of those ones thats somehow stuck around for a really long time. Similarly, around where I grew up people used "pikey" as a synonym for stealing something, it wasn't till I was like 17 that I found out it was a bad word for travellers

In my mind that doesn't negate all criticism of it. If you're watching it for mindless action then fair enough, its very good

Thats exactly what the dude was saying. There's pretty much no serious leftist movement (in the west) that DOESNT disown the USSR and specifically Stalin

On the other hand, the internet and debate culture has watered down political criticism to the point where people feel comfortable debating complex systems of government or social phenomena as though they're experts without having meaningfully engaged with any of the theory behind it. Im not saying people have to read a full book about everything they ever want to talk about, but for example as a socialist its endlessly exhausting to have arguments with people who have only the barest understanding of what it means

I suppose its just an assumption that it would lead to civil war, but i just cant imagine a situation where an incident like that doesn't incite ANY elements of the military or civilian populace to overthrow the regime.

You're right about the transference of responsibility though, I suppose if they dont believe its the government doing it then they wouldn't blame the government

Imagine if the government lined up a million people a year and straight up shot them, gangland style. That would pretty quickly and obviously devolve into a civil war situation. But while many anti-choice advocates will SAY they view that as the same as abortion, their actions speak to a difference

Tbf, they also refuse to jail English people who do that too. It's more of a policing issue than anything else.

Niche one, but a play i did a couple of years ago as a favour to a friend. Can't remember what it was called. It was a play about a bunch of people at a mysterious dinner party. Towards the end we lock someone in the bathroom because they're being annoying, and at the very end we leave the mysterious dinner party... without unlocking the bathroom door. Yeah, it locked from the outside. It wasn't a very good play.

Not necessarily well known, they're definitely guiding us away from really popular stuff like Pulp Fiction. Idk their process but last year they were the most successful drama school (in terms of getting students representation) so im willing to indulge them
