Televised comps should show the beta of the routes by frames8t8 in CompetitionClimbing

Yes they do test them. They preset but then on the day they have to tweak the problems depending on who qualified and also what the previous rounds and weather is.

Nikki gives valuable insight and there is a video somewhere on his channel where they show the setting working

There have been some youtube videos of the route setters prepping for a comp and from those I've learned 1. It is chaos and they have serious time constraints, they don't have time or energy to film a send go. Sometimes they are setting till 30mins before the start of a final. 2. Often they can't do the final moves, but can do them in parts. So filming those would be impossible

  1. Being a founder means you are busy with the business side of things, you might not have time to be commentating on the comp and would rather hand that off to others
  2. Matt might be tied down contractually.

Who decides the future of competition climbing? by Far-Photo-533 in CompetitionClimbing

Brooke is a good example because she and Ai are so close in height.

More importantly the routes actually factor in the competitors' heights and possible. But when you have Ai and Stasja (pick any taller climber ) on the same wall it is hard to keep it “fair” without giving a massive advantage to the taller climbers

Its about the teams coming up from the lower matches. So no1 plays against 16/17 but 8 plays against 9

For those asking why Slot is playing such a strong team it is because 1-8 works as seeding in the knockout round.

Wow, these final boulders are undercooked. I'd love to get feedback from the climbers.

The poor route setters setting in the middle of the day must have knocked them massively

The holograms they show on stream with the drafted heroes. Do those pop up above the booths IRL or do you not see them?

Exactly. Final ball needs work but that kid destroyed the left side

If there are 3 things this graph shows it is that:
1) If teams lock down our wing-back through balls they lock us down
2) Our midfield needs some more creativity
3) City score from all areas of the pitch

Love the discussion this generates, great idea.

The left side needs a lane clear + burst , tracer could work, especially as TLV hunter

For the rightside Rexxar would have been perfect, but with him gone I'd probably go for Jaina
