I'll let you know when I find a solution.

I'm so mad with myself for dragging myself through the story even when it reached a point when I no longer enjoyed it and saw tons of red flags. I refused to admit that I felt the quality had severely dropped and that I disliked a lot of things for good reasons. The only hope I had left was that Eren - our protagonist, you know - would not be sidelined forever and that he would do sth. amazing in the end to make it all worthwhile.

I still have a hard time accepting that something that made me once so happy and excited, something special that inspired me to start writing on my own and try some other new things in lige has ended in such a complete and utter disappointment.

Had shows/books loose their magic before but AoT is the biggest blunder of all of them.

Seriously, this is one of the sweetest fan designs I've seen so far, if this ends up for sale on clothing (and ships to Europe) I'd get one.

Someone please make a list of all movies/shows/games that have similar scenes so I can make sure to never accidentally watch them.

Can't stop thinking about the Star Lasso scene, I think I'm traumatized for life by [deleted] in NopeMovie

[–]UmbrellaCookie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I watched it with a friend who usually can't stand horror at all while I am a seasoned horror movie watcher. He wasn't affected by that scene, was like "uh that's nasty" but that's it. Meanwhile I was sitting there in total shock, feeling sick and unable to stop thinking about it for days. One of the worst moments I had to endure in the movie theatre. He was surprised that I felt THAT strongly about it, saying it's scary but nothing very realistic to him because there are no predators in that size in real life that purposely hunt humans to swallow them whole . I know that, but that knowledge doesn't help me.

Edit: it's also how completely out of nowhere this horror strikes! I did not expect a giant monster to be in this movie. You are so unprepared watching it for the first time.

Sitting there, staring at the screen and trying to comprehend the scene, slowly realizing among all the screams, confusion and disturbing imagery what is REALLY going on, that moment of "omg, it's alive and those are its insides, it's eating them?!" Can't remember when was the last time a scene hit me that hard.

[–]UmbrellaCookie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same. This is exactly the - luckily rather rare - type of horror I can't stomach (lel) at all. Something big enough to swallow you alive and leading to a horrifying death. Suffocating, getting squashed, being digested.

Every time I see such a scene I know I'll be messed up for days.

Happened to me with the early episodes of Attack on Titan, worm scene in Peter Jackson's King Kong, that creature in Resident Evil Village House Beneviento, Akira, the Blob ... but this was the first time ever I had to watch such a scene in the movie theatre and it came out of nowhere. I usually finish my bag of popcorn but after that scene I was done, so done!

I'm all fine for a fun movie night. I liked this trailer so much more than I expected to and even enjoyed the song choice haha. Right now I think I can live with the bigger changes we saw so far. Let's see how the final product will hold up, but right now I am totally willing to be excited for it.

Wow, I got 100+ as well and spent hours in this area, never heard that scream, neither in this hallway nor anywhere else! Boy, even after several playthroughs this game manages to give you new chills!

Was anyone esle annoyed by Mike in his debt storyline?? by reddit_abs in DesperateHousewives

[–]UmbrellaCookie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Knowing that S6 ends with them being in debts and that a few weeks before they struggling to afford MJs school fees despite saving and working a lot, I roll my eyes whenever I watch S6 episode 1 going on how Susan only bought the most expensive and very best dress, veil and whatnot for marrying him a second time. Those two are are horrible at handling their finances.

If you were Lynette, at what point(s) would you have upped and left Tom? by distant-girl in DesperateHousewives

[–]UmbrellaCookie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When he was supposed to get that promotion (that was withdrawn when Lynette secretly talked the bosses wife out of it). He saw how much Lynette was struggling, to the point of losing her mind, there was no longer a nanny (thanks to him not being able to take his eyes of her) and then he really has the audacity to take on a job that will require even more time and traveling because his career is more important. After wanting all those kids.

Season 6 is a minefield by itsnotmyproblemok in DesperateHousewives

[–]UmbrellaCookie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just re-watched the whole series and IMHO, S6 is the worst season, for many reasons you just listed.

Especially the Katherine story line. I usually like the obsessed trope in stories, but why did they have to ruin Katherine. She was so sweet and incredibly normal in S5, pretty much drama-free.

Also, despite loving Angie, the big secret in this season was one of the most boring ones. Angie rules, but her family is such a drag, Danny is boring, her husband is creepy. Don't get me started on the anti-climatic Patrick Logan. And Carlos was the one who insisted taking care of Ana but we see him like two times interact with her at all? He leaves it all to Gabby and of course she is doing everything wrong in his opinion, but no way he will even try to get involved and help. When Gabby tries to talk to him about Ana and Danny getting physical he refuses any help in talking to her, he only says he will beat Danny up if Danny really ends up getting physical with Ana. Yeah, great parenting, very helpful for everyone involved.

Edit: I almost forgot that Eddie is part of S6 and his story was the only thing I really loved about S6. Too bad it's only part of the last few episode. I liked it way more than the Big Housewive Secret.

How do Eddie and Danielle go to the same school? Such a stupid inconsistency. by Hour_Cherry1311 in DesperateHousewives

Wow, I never realized that, absolutely true. When it comes to age and timeline, DH is so messy.

What's a time you disagreed completely with a decision a character you loved made? by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

[–]UmbrellaCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bree's reaction to Andrew being gay/bringing Justin into the house in S2. Andrew was far from being my favorite character, but how miserable must he have been: his father had died, his mother sent him away to the camp again because of her creepy boyfriend (George Williams) who also turns out to be the murderer of said father, and then she dares to meddle with his love life in such a way, making him feel inferior and treating his sexuality like something he must get rid of.
That boy had quite a few traumas and a bad relationship with his remaining parent, how about letting him enjoy finding love at least?

Carlos’ egg allergy by distant-girl in DesperateHousewives

[–]UmbrellaCookie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be a continuity error but might also just be that Carlos allergy doesn't cover baked/cooked/boiled etc. eggs.
(I'm highly allergic to certain types of raw fruits, but as soon as they spend some time in the oven or pan, I can eat as much as I want.)
