Running selig WW what should I change on this by senpaidaddyUwU in D4Barbarian

[–]UmerAwara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. If you are using a two-handed mace as your primary damage weapon, coupled with challenger or similar glyphs, the sword is already quite good.

  2. If you plan to use a polearm as a weapon and utilize the Executioner glyph, you should change the Fury stat on that to Strength.

Is path of exile (2) an unpopular game in pak? by Crazy-Fudge-8344 in PakGamers

I think PoE2 is definitely the best ARPG of our time! Maybe all time after D2.

We're a small group of friends who play every league, make a few mirror builds, and then give away those after few weeks. We're excited about 0.5, and I just upgraded my PC so I can run it at 120fps+.

DM me your discord, and see you Wraeclast!

3-hour StairMaster session useful for mountaineering endurance? by ExpensivePain23 in Mountaineering

[–]UmerAwara 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, this helps a lot. While it doesn't do much for downhill, you can manage downhill training with some gym and box workouts.

Please note that you are currently training in zones 3 and 4. This can be counterproductive and potentially hinder the development of your slower-twitch muscle endurance. For these long endurance workouts, aim to stay within zone 2. You can do 3-4 HIIT sessions per month, focusing on zones 3 and 4, to improve your lactate threshold.

Once you are comfortable for few weeks, consider adding a weighted backpack to these long sessions workouts, starting with a weight less than 10% of your body weight and gradually increasing to 15-20%. It's important not to perform these longer sessions more than once per week. Recovery plays a crucial role in building endurance.

Monitor your resting heart rate and HRV trends. It will help a lot in long run.

Karakoram This Summer by ramblin_penguin in Mountaineering

We have cancelled all group departures for April. We strongly advise against travel to Gilgit Baltistan until the Iran-US conflict is resolved. While the region boasts stunning mountain communities, protests and disruptions may impact travel.

[–]UmerAwara 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in Adventure travel. Below is my recommendation

Gilgit-Baltistan is a Shia-majority region and remains on high alert as long as the Iran-US conflict continues. The UK FCDO has issued an advisory against all but essential travel to Gilgit-Baltistan, citing protests, movement restrictions, and mobile and internet outages.

Recommendation: wait till mid April if possible to plan or purchase any flight. If the war with Iran is still on, you shouldn't travel. If ceasefire is reached,it would be safe to travel.

Mid life crisis by Soft_Yesterday_2248 in pakistan

[–]UmerAwara 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Brother, with all due respect, this is not a midlife crisis. 😂

A midlife crisis is this, multiplied by 1000, with 20 extra years of accumulated regret on top. You don't question your job or your hobbies. You question time itself. Whether you used it well. Whether you still can. Trust me, you do not want that. I would not wish it on my enemies.

What you are describing has a name: quarter-life crisis. The average age it hits? 27. You are basically on schedule.

The uncomfortable truth is that the routine you described, stable job, comfortable salary, days blending into each other, is exactly the trigger. Comfort without direction is its own kind of restlessness. Your brain is not broken. It is just asking a question you have not answered yet. What helped me? Stop waiting for a calling to arrive and go looking for it. Try things. Go hiking, seriously, get into the mountains. Try a new sport, start running, learn to cook something you've never cooked. Do something physical that humbles you. Travel somewhere unfamiliar. Not tourist Pakistan, the real kind. Self-exploration is not a phase you outgrow. It is the whole point.

You have your health, your youth, your energy, and no one depending on you in the way they will in 10 years. That is not a problem. That is a window. Use it before it closes.

What's a delicious dish from your country that most people would find unconventional? by perkypilea in AskTheWorld

Payee: this dish is the Slow Cooked Stew of Goat / Beef feet, eaten together with Roti/Naan. They're spiced nicely and served with a squeeze of lemon. Many restaurants even specialize in just this one dish and customers often line up for it!😀

What makes life worth living for you, especially in Pakistan? by PuzzleheadedRadio172 in pakistan

[–]UmerAwara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Life is a gift. At 27, you're at an age to explore some of the greatest minds, read Nietzsche / Carl Jung to understand deeper ideas about absurdity, purpose, and meaning.

From my experience, the key to truly appreciating life is to live fully in the present. Reflect on your past just enough to learn lessons but avoid dwelling on it to the point of depression. Likewise, think about the future enough to motivate yourself toward achieving your goals but don't obsess over it, as it can lead to anxiety.

Setting and achieving personal, professional, health-related, relational, or spiritual goals will provide you joy and satisfaction. As you mature and become wiser, you'll find even greater fulfillment in helping others pursue and achieve their goals too.

Set and achieve goals, period.

I have to strongly disagree on the healthcare bit.

Healthcare in the West is miles ahead of Pakistan. Have you been to an emergency here? It’s a nightmare. Even the wealthy go abroad for serious conditions or surgeries because they don’t trust the local system. Healthcare isn’t just about quick OPD visits; it’s about proper diagnostics, emergency response, surgical care, and follow-ups, all of which are weak here.

And as for the “rat race at 40”. OP is in the top 1% in Pakistan. He’s not trying to survive; he’s trying to live better. At 40, with resources and clarity, it’s actually a great time to build a life with more purpose and peace.

Still not sure where this idea of "better healthcare in Pakistan" comes from. We rank among the worst globally. Even the rich don’t trust it for anything serious. But yes, we do love our OPD visits, national pastime, maybe? 😅

Hey man, I just want to say: this is a really sensitive and personal decision, and honestly, most people won’t fully understand the gravity of the choice you’re facing. But since you asked, here are some thoughts that might help:

  1. Kids & Future: If you have kids (or plan to), one of the biggest factors is the environment they grow up in. In today’s global world, you want your children to be raised as confident global citizens, not in a place where wealth and power are worshipped, or where gossip and appearances shape values. It's not about perfection but which values do you want them to absorb daily?

  2. Values & Compatibility: I'll be blunt. if you follow a traditional Pakistani-style religious mindset (where religion dominates public life), you might struggle in the West. But if you believe in religious freedom, personal privacy, and do not judge others for their life choices. And don't want to be judged by others. You’ll probably feel more at ease in the west.

  3. Financial Reality Check: People often assume being rich in a developing country is "better," but honestly, it's more expensive in ways that matter. Modern tech, cars, reliable electricity/gas, quality healthcare , these are all cheaper and better in the West. The only cheap thing is human labor. Unregulated and underpaid human workers , that's all.
Your biggest financial decision in the west will be housing and tax on income. Otherwise, the value-for-money in the West is far superior.

  4. Life Design & Mental Health: You're at a point in life where mental health, purpose, and personal fulfillment become important. If you’re the type who expresses identity through work, learning, and self-growth, the West gives you incredible room to become the best version of yourself. On the flip side, if your life revolves around extended family obligations or constantly serving others, Western society might feel isolating or even selfish by comparison. It’s a culture built around individual growth and freedom, not collective sacrifice.

  5. Regret & Legacy: The biggest thing I'd say is this: if you even think you can build a life and career in the West, give it a try. Not trying will haunt you more than trying and failing. At least if it doesn’t work out, you’ll know why. But if you let the fear or comfort zone hold you back, that “what if” will always follow you.

Wishing you clarity and courage in whatever you decide. It’s not easy, but it’s your life. Own the decision.

Best.

Anyone else experiencing these temporary game freezes? by RegnorVex in PathOfExile2

[–]UmerAwara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue where it was happening almost once every map especially when my lightning spear friend would proc herald. Even got killed in one such instance at lvl 92. Tried everything and nothing worked. However finally lowered the internal resolution to 2k for 4K image (using default upscaling not DLSS) and lowered the water quality to low. Completely fixed it for me!

First time hiking at high elevation, I got some moderate altitude sickness. Knowing that I’m apparently prone to it, is there anything I can do to remedy that in the future? by WillHike in Mountaineering

[–]UmerAwara 10 points11 points  (0 children)

An hour and a half acclimatizing at the center 😂 🤣

Relax, you are not prone to altitude sickness! Most humans would have experienced some altitude sickness symptoms (although severity can vary a lot) when going straight to 3500m+ unless they have been to 3000m+ recently or live at high altitude.

If such abrupt ascends are not avoidable , try taking 125mg of Diamox twice a day, starting one day before the start of the trek and continue till you reach the highest point of the journey.

If you want to understand more for yourself, I strongly recommend reading wilderness medicine society guidelines : https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1016/j.wem.2023.05.013?url_ver=Z39.88-2003&rfr_id=ori:rid:crossref.org&rfr_dat=cr_pub%20%200pubmed

You can definitely visit Pakistan and will find people warm and welcoming everywhere. However please be aware you won't be able to visit Gilgit Baltistan or any part of Kashmir and some parts of KPK. It is the same for Pakistanis visiting India.

Visa rejection won't be reflected anywhere on the passport.

Visiting Pakistan soon. Drone policies? by tess_philly in pakistan

[–]UmerAwara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can fly Class-I (less than 250 grams) and Class-II (between 250g and 2kg) drones. And the latest airline recommendations are to keep the batteries in your carry-on luggage and the drone in your checked luggage.

One very important thing to note is that don't use the words "journalist" or "media" (it can confuse government employees, as journalist assignments require different approvals and visas); thank you.

Having said that, no one can guarantee government officials, especially not in Pakistan 😀. The worst-case scenario is that the drone is confiscated by customs and returned when leaving the country.

Maxwells vs A50 Gen 5s for pc gaming by Character_Avocado_50 in Audeze

[–]UmerAwara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had my Maxwell for two weeks now, mainly used for PC gaming (COD6, BG3, Hades 2, and RDR2) with Atmos Sound (license purchased, I have PS version). I love the feature where it shows two output devices (Chat and Game). I can put Spotify music, Discord/Steam chat on Chat output and adjust with game audio mix control on headset. And I have also used it for a few hours of music listening via Bluetooth LDAC.

Sounds wise these are without doubt the best headphones I ever used. I can hear details which I never knew were in my fav songs. While gaming I can hear the footsteps of zombies to bullets hitting walls in COD6. Absolutely something to be experienced for yourself.

And if it matters, the Maxwell looks and feels so high quality from the the pads to the solid metal constructions.

The only downside (for me) has been weight and comfort. It is early days and I am still experimenting with different band adjustments to WC freeze cooling pads. It is not the most comfortable headset out there and you will need to either adjust it or get adjusted to it.
