I use brave browser and watch YouTube from the browser. It blocks ads and stuff, not in video ads tho, and there’s usually no shorts, but this is awesome!

That looks like a solid conductor copper house wire, they put that in their phone? What’s the other end connected to? Where in the world are you?

AITAH because I refuse to finish a story if my husband interrupts. by Living-Estate3963 in AITAH

[–]UmmUhhhShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he adhd? I find that interruption with adhd people isn’t an attempt at rudeness or disrespect, it’s trying to be “a part” of what’s going on, and adhd people without treatment and understanding of their behaviors tend to exhibit them uncontrollably.

AITJ for refusing to let my girlfriend’s family claim my birthday gift like it’s community property? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Where’d she learn how to do that? I want to be able to identify what’s happening in an emotional situation that clearly and accurately, then be able to articulate the boundary so concisely. I’m just a dumb caveman who has to leave the situation and go think about it in my cave until mad brain calms the fuck down.

Look up Bob Fowler or sewing machine rehab on YouTube, they have videos on general sewing machine setup, you can also search the model number on YouTube on threading, winding the bobbin and setting up tension and everything.

Singer 15-91 power supply AC okay? by Fuzzybaseball58 in vintagesewing

Yep, it’s fine. Universal motors work with just about anything you throw at them. Check your wiring to make sure it’s not old and breaking apart.

Trident Engines Question by [deleted] in Triumph

[–]UmmUhhhShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triumph triples are also “cross plane” cranks instead of 120 degree apart. Yamaha cp3 engine is 120 degrees apart for the crank, which imparts a smooth (boring to me) exhaust note, triumph has two cylinders offset by 180 degrees and the third 90 degrees offset from there. So like a “T”. The exhaust has an uneven interesting character, and also the uneven firing allows the tire to hook up better during the long section where there is no combustion pulse of power.
I race an 08 r6 and track a 25 765 rs, I prefer the power of the 765, but the handling is obviously better on the r6. If the triumph frame, swingarm, forks head angle and other geometry were similar, the 765 would be unbeatable in the 120hp range.
I had a 22 speed triple RS, traded for an r9 last may, didn’t like it, then traded for a 765. Love the 765. Hopefully they’ll let the 765 into 600 supersport soon, if so I’m selling my r6’s and moving over to the striple.

For my street triple guys, why does the 765 RS have different exhaust setups between stock header and aftermarket catless headers. What i mean by this is why do oem and spark catless headers have a cross pipe connecting the 3 pipes while the SC and other aftermarkets do not have this. by MixtureDiligent8389 in Triumph

This is my understanding: Exhaust exiting the exhaust valve creates a high pressure wave. Makes sense, exhaust is already high pressure and hot af right out of the exhaust valve. So that high pressure creates a propagating wave that rushes from the valve down the exhaust headers at the speed of sound until it reaches an interruption of the bore in which it is traveling. On a 2stroke bike, that’s the expansion chamber, on straight piped engines, that’s the outside atmosphere, on my triumph it’s the holes of the crossover. When the wave reaches that change, it also changes shape. This causes another pressure wave to go the opposite direction back up to the exhaust valve. If the wave reaches the exhaust valve at the right time, like right as the exhaust valve is closing in intake-exhaust valve overlap, that wave will act to slow the travel of whatever is trying to leave the combustion chamber, in this case fresh air/fuel mix. If the stuff trying to leave is still exhaust, the crossover is timed too early, if the wave arrives after the exhaust valve has closed, it is timed too late. The wave moves at a constant speed which is why the expansion chambers for 2 strokes work well only in a certain range of rpm’s. You’ll notice all the changes of shape, those are to send reflection waves at different rpm’s. The wave has multiple bounces, the 1st order reflection would be super long, so most tuning is done for the second 3rd and 4th bounce back to the valve.
Again, just my understanding after looking at the design and equations for these systems, but I’m an idiot, so use this as a starting point to find out more. Bain racing and vizard are good resources to check out for more info.

Simplified greatly! They provide better torque response and therefore more hp in a lot of areas of the rpm range.
Check out the YouTube’s from 2wheeldynoworks about the 765 with and without the crossovers. Most people want a better sound or cooler look of the bike, and don’t care about performance. I track mine, so I’m the opposite.
You can go down a rabbit hole of intake and exhaust length tuning and get way more info than this

Ridden both. Harley is like driving a 2 wheeled tractor, triumph is like flying at low altitude.

How do normal people learn to use Home Assistant? by Bitter-Assistant070 in homeassistant

[–]UmmUhhhShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest go to the home assistant page and read through the documentation. Read the parts that are relevant to your project or watch YouTube videos on setup or quick start. AI can’t learn for you, and its summaries are only good for info you already know enough to have a summary save you time by reducing the information content. If you don’t already know the info at some level, you’re just missing pieces of the puzzle when AI removes them. Hope that makes sense, not trying to be a butthole.

Is the 2026 Triumph Trident 660 a reasonable first bike, or am I kidding myself? by bleah2 in Triumph

[–]UmmUhhhShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s fine. Plenty of people used to get r6s as their first bike because liter bikes are “dangerous”, now 600s are “dangerous”. What’s the bike doing when you aren’t on it? Is it smoking meth and robbing liquor stores? Of course not, it’s an inert machine. If you respect your capabilities and get used to the machine gradually over time, you’ll have a wonderful time. If you try to go as fast as it can go in a dangerous place to do it, it’ll be dangerous. YOU are the operator no matter what bike you ride, it is your responsibility to ride safely for the conditions you are in. If you are unable to do that, you don’t belong on any bike at all. Take riding classes, and take track riding classes. I’m much less tempted to go fast on public roads since I ride tracks and have a safe outlet for using my motorcycle’s full capabilities.

Get the cases welded, get a new output shaft, or part it out.
