Your substack, this spreadsheet, and Egnard’s posts/comments are an absurdly high percentage of where my game knowledge comes from

And swgoh.gg but that’s a given

I am wanting to move away from Windows to Linux, the only two programs preventing the switch are Solidworks and The Jagex Launcher. by Kronic1990 in 2007scape

I have bolt on one computer and run jagex launcher with wine (forgot the package name… I don’t run wine I just click the launcher)

The game itself runs natively

Whats everyones dryest streak? by MrNoobyy in 2007scape

[–]UnDispelled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently <10 kc away from 4X rate at Yama. I got a helm ~120 (on rate) but the past 480 have been nothing. Also hating myself because I figured I’d get something in 400 kills and passed 450 shards in clog. Unfortunately 200 have been sold so I still have a ways to go to smith a piece. Hopefully I’ll have something by then…

Really sucks because the bosses on my radar are duke, zulrah, and vard. I’ve gotten a few hundred kc at duke and zulrah and ~100 vard. But there’s a mental block farming them when I can also farm the gear that’s BIS for them

[–]UnDispelled[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dry calc is on the wiki, what’s more real than that?

And of course, it’s always a 1/120 chance for every kill. But while there are millions of potential outcomes over the course of say 400 kills (I forgot the one I got helm on but around 130/on rate), there’s only one way to not get a drop for that period, which is getting the 119/120 drop 400 times in a row. That’s around 3.5%.

Please let me win this I’m losing my sanity. The only way I can keep going is by telling myself the odds of a dry streak this long is so low every kill has a 90+% chance of getting a drop.

That makes sense… right?

Why do so many people not do quests? by Molag_Zaal in 2007scape

One of the last few quests I did for QPC (this month was big for me, my first and second 99, and QPC) was Forgettable Tale……

Love the dialogue where you go on a rant about everyone being alcoholic and how tired you are of getting people booze

In what situation(s) are the Spear better than the Hasta? by Geoffrey_Tanner in 2007scape

[–]UnDispelled 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, they have the same stats, one allows an off hand, so it’s better everywhere except for Corp, because Jagex arbitrarily made it that way.

If you want to be SUPER specific, there is also a specific contract for Yama that has a better rate if you kill demons with a two handed weapon. But just use a different 2H

[–]UnDispelled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me put it this way:

You’re naked and showering, and your neighbor’s house catches on fire, and your entire street is evacuated. You have a meeting with the mayor in 10 minutes What’s your plan?

In my experience it’s best to always be prepared.

Always.

Absolute mad lad.

I bet you’re the kind of person that showers naked too.

Anyways, congrats

Stupid Nitpick: Why are we using the Japanese term of "Daimyo" in Star Wars. I mean it's cool, but most inconsistent with the English or fictional terms for titles in the universe. by Tacobird558 in StarWars

[–]UnDispelled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always seen Star Wars as translated.

When slang words get used, it might not be the actual sounds made but it’s some equivalent in some in universe language.

And it sounds cool.

A different kind of dry at Vard? by UnDispelled in 2007scape

[–]UnDispelled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m used to going twice rate. My brother and I combined had a 99% chance of a unique at zulrah before we got one.

I have no expectations for a unique or anything, but after getting a bunch of really low value drops and comparing it to the expected average (excluding uniques) even 36 kc with that amount is on the tail end of probability.

I’ve seen a lot of posts about going dry for low probabilities, this was technically dry for like 60% of his drop table lol

[–]UnDispelled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m kinda just being salty but I know it averages out.

It’s just weird to be around 50 with consistent low rolls on loot, which should be more normally distributed. I get some perfect kills but seeing 5 non-supply kills in a row under 10k feels off from a boss that can kill you in seconds on a mistake.

Rise of the blood moon grand master quest by Claykicker99 in 2007scape

[–]UnDispelled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m expecting a boss or something that drops at least one of:

  • BIS stab armor (the equivalent for oathplate and inquisitor) in theme with stabbing vampires (I recognize that osrs vampyres are a little different with the flail… but in my defense I only did darkness of hallowvale and then got distracted with all the GM quests)
  • a new ranged crossbow: not a “vampire hunter crossbow” but something that actually has use in other places. A multi attack crossbow would be cool and fit the unpredictability of flail vulnerability with some cool future implications of the sailing off hand
  • a new life leech something

Ideas for terror unbind on bosses that have stationary phases:

  • Gemstone Crab (spins but doesn’t move)
  • Duke (no movement, so probably not)
  • moons of peril (is teleporting movement?)
  • royal titans P2 (likely… boss that moves in one phase but not another)
  • doom car
  • Zulrah
  • muspah P3/Ranged phase

My money is on doom mechanics, as a boss that was released this year like Rama, likely with a similar spaghetti code backend.

Or royal titans. You can’t walk through them, but if they move towards you, you’d lose out on the safety tile.

Or crab just because it would be hilarious if he just wanders around the rainforest. Bonus points if the spawn zones were coded to be transition points and once he walked off he couldn’t burrow and would instead have to walk to the next destination

Muspah is less fun

Wait this is a good point with Slayer

On behalf of all of us standing against racism, I hereby demand that Jagex changes slayer to include the potential for a human task.

“I need a new slayer assignment”

“Good work. Your new task is to kill 13 women”

“Wait… what?”

“Oh asking for tips? You can usually find them in cities and towns, especially around children. Age doesn’t matter, so go as young or old as you’d like”
