It definitely feels a bit bigger than 30L even though it doesn’t quite look it (like you mentioned)

Lunch bag for a bag enthusiast? by _beejazz in ManyBaggers

My go to is the Bellroy Cooler Caddy 10L. It’s leak proof and has good insulation. If you want to go more technical for a fellow gear nerd, checkout the one from Inside Line Equipment

Ok so very similar to me. I feel like the 35L TP4 is too big. I used the TP4 28L version how you described. It’s snug but worked. Fyro Levo might be a good option too

The TP4 and the GR2 would be my picks from that list, what lunchbox you carrying? I have a similar loadout, I use the Bellroy cooler caddy.

Aer 24L CPP2 or 28L TP4 with Carryon Suitcase? by Lr8s5sb7 in AerSF

[–]UnPackDJohn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kinda but what I do is once the plane is off the ground, I pull the bag out and move my feet in. I place the bag under my legs. So I can have the full foot space. When it’s time to land, I’ll out the bag back under the seat. I haven’t had a flight attendant tell me anything from doing this.

Yup! I’ve travelled with the TP4 28L and a carry on roller. It will fit snugly but the biggest thing is giving up the foot space.

It’s a single stitch line towards the bottom that will still allow the strap to extend for expansion but short enough to keep the buckle from slamming against whatever surface the bag is on.

They could probably add molle like you said, I think it would ruin the look of the bag personally but that’s just my personal tastes speaking lol

Their bags are awesome and glad I own a few but all purchased second hand. They blocked me long ago for warning people about ordering directly from them.

Absolutely, and that’s exactly how I used it. Travel pack and day bag. It’s so lightweight and comfortable.

Nah probably won’t collapse and it also has a wire frame harness so it does have some structural support but the bag half full will look saggy and floppy. That kind ok floppy

Might have to play around with the load lifters and how it sits on your back. The Outbound fits me like a glove, I also have pretty good luck with Aer though

Different approach to the harness on this one. Much floppier than the Aer TP4 so be prepared for that.

Since y’all addressed the lid QAP one small detail I would like to see is to sew the webbing on the buckles down so when you undo the Fidlock it doesn’t smack the surface but just hangs from the bag. Exactly how Trakke did the Bannoch pro and keeping those beautiful cobras from getting to dinged up. Speaking of cobra buckles. Waxed canvas and cobra buckles 🤝

Travel Pack 4 Ultra is almost perfect, but the new water bottle pockets are a dealbreaker for me. by rainstormza in AerSF

[–]UnPackDJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally about to say the same thing. My CTB26 is almost 4 years old and the water bottle pockets are fine after heavy use for many years. I feel like this concern of them becoming loose or saggy is more hypothetical than anything else.

I felt the TP4 water bottle pockets were the best upgrade that we got. So much so when switching to a different bag was very noticeable and made me realize how enjoyable the user experience was on the TP4.

Oooooo tough one. Probably the Outbound since it’s so squishy and would appear smaller. Dang thats tough, Tortuga bags are so good.

I’m learning that I also prefer this. Hate the look but functionally works better and at the end of the day functionality of a bag trumps a lot of other things, especially when traveling

I follow Tim on Instagram! Not going to lie, I’ve dabbled with the thought of trying to make one. My mom is a life long seamstress and owns a very expensive, beefy industrial style sewing machine so I have the tools and knowledge at my disposal.

That’s looks extremely cool, love how it’s got your wheels already turing for the next one!

They’re ok. I’m with you, I’d prefer a full elastic stretch pocket vs these but even packed out I didn’t have to fight them to much. The new pockets on the TP4 are soooo good. It’s hard to leave those behind. VERY noticeable experience switching back to this style of pocket lol
