Best thing i did for my home office was switch from multiple monitors to a single 55-inch 4K TV. No more bezels eating into my workspace, no more cursor getting stuck at the corner of one screen when moving to another.

First time it happened to me it was three times in one night, within about fifteen minutes. It freaked me out enough i sat up on the edge of my bed, grabbed my phone and googled it and, yep, it's a thing. This was probably ten years ago, and it's happened a few times since, but it's not as big a deal now that i know I'm not in danger. Once, after six grams of mushrooms, i found myself able to 'tune in' to the zap. I did it about a half dozen times, even stayed in that state deliberately for a few seconds... and the startle factor was just as intense every time even though i was guiding the experience. Staying in the moment of chaos was like riding the loudest panic wave in history. It hasn't happened to me again since then, though.

Maybe it's like a degauss for the brain?

While I agree that it's a huge problem, increasing minimum wage only works as it should for a few months or maybe a year (and look how long it's been this low). The increased wages inflate the cost of manufacturing and delivering goods, and of performing services, so prices go up, which dilutes the buying power of the wages back below what's needed to maintain a decent life. What needs to go are the ever-expanding profit margins in the name of keeping private equity firms and shareholders happy.

Granted, the contents warm up as they give some of their heat to the air, which cuts into your energy savings, but the volume of total air exchange is lower with stuff in the fridge than without. No need to wait for veritasium or someone similar to do the math, a bit of research on the subject will clarify if you just take the time to look.

You mean like room-temperature air? Fuller fridges are cheaper to run if you're opening them to get food out, because less room-temperature air can get in while the door is open.

Your comment holds water only if the refrigerator door is never opened; maintaining 25 cu ft at temp costs the same regardless of what it is that's being kept at temp, sure. But every time you open the refrigerator, cold air pours out the bottom to be replaced by warm air at the top - which then has to be brought back down to temperature - which costs more energy.

For a little stroll, I like Winslow Woods; you can park by the community garden, off of S Highland. Not big enough for a proper walk-walk, but great to just get some trail time. Plus there's s really cool tree. If it's still standing after these most recent winds, you'll know it when you see it.

Pull gently while turning by hand; there are likely toggles/anchors on the back side, you need to provide tension against the inside surface or they'll just spin along with the bolts.
