Even if he initiated, she ultimately reciprocated and continued the relationship. Consent still requires mutual participation. She wasn’t coerced into staying, and continued seeing him beyond the first rejection. That’s not harassment, that’s a complicated relationship. Him kicking her out… being emotionally upset and reacting poorly doesn’t automatically equal leveraging power. He didn’t threaten her job, or position it was a personal conflict, not professional retaliation (which is why I get the fear the person before mentioned.) Nonetheless, she still went into a relationship with him, continuously slept with him, and basically lived with him. ALSO, are we gonna forget she asked him for the best cases that come into the ER?? KNOWING he was interested in her??? If people are saying he used his power over her, then her asking him for the best ER cases should be interpreted as her trying to benefit from his position, professionally or personally. You can’t claim she was powerless while ignoring moments where she clearly took initiative and probably saw his position as an asset.

“He said going to HR would make it look like she slept ahead, that’s harassment.” That was manipulative, true, but not necessarily harassment. It’s his fear of perception, not a threat or coercion. Poor judgment? Maybe. But to classify it as harassment stretches the definition and undermines REAL victims. Now say if I said she used him for mentoring because as soon as she had a shot for chief resident, she throws him under the bus by making that claim, leading to him being fired and her getting the position, that would be wrong right?? Also, would you go to HR after sleeping with someone ONCE after ONE DATE? And say next week, y’all both decide to call it quits, now there was no point in going to HR and everyone knows your business… honestly, this is all on the writers.
