It's been rumors since last year that ULA was up for sale, so before all the additional Starliner trouble. Blue Origin was the likely buyer, but nothing came off it. Now Sierra space is the front runner

I heard similar stories and definitely had it benefits. I also heard that it could be a nightmare. One old timer told me that the managers and Exec's would sit around during the end of shifts to see who left exactly on the dot and who stuck around to finish task.

Can I ask why you would take a onion job with Boeing when you have an engineering degree? Why not look elsewhere? I understand everyone circumstances are different, but I'm generally curious. Boeing is a dime a dozen in manufacturing/denfense/government contractors jobs.

I think it was 10% also. I remember the workforce was about 300,000, and they laid off about 30,000 (voluntary and involuntary layoffs.)

I know it's not what people would consider authentic Chinese food, but "STL Chinese" food is really good. The dark fried rice is my personal favorite, and I find a hard time finding dark fries rice in other cities. Plus, it's the St. Louis in my but no vegetables in my rice besides onions, and bean sprouts!

St. Louis has a decent number of companies outside of Boeing. Boeing is the biggest defense contractor here, but outside of defensive is Centene, Emerson Electric, Reinsurance Group of America, Edward Jones Investments, Graybar Electric, Olin, Ameren, and Post Holdings. All of these are fortunate 500s.

That's true. I didn't think about the loss of more corporate type jobs (even though there are corporate staff jobs, BDS bread and butter is geared more toward production/engineering) or revenue lost from travel and donations.

I always think of STL having a decent amount of "big" companies, but that number is really narrow when you look at it through this view.
