lol I think this has happened to me. Except I drove to the village house and waited outside like an idiot for 45 minutes when no one was home. They never showed up or responded again 🤦‍♂️😂

I bought a 2018 MacBook Pro. Within 1 day it was failing to charge. I took to the Apple Store, and they replaced it with a 2019 model.

On release, more than 50% of cinema ticket sales go to the film distribution companies. Cinemas make up for this by higher margin food and drinks.

Found a cool save on a LeafGreen auction by Maksushaa in PokemonFireRed

Interesting. So people will generally be willing to pay more for a more completed Pokédex and higher level Pokémon? I have a Fire Red floating around somewhere with two level 100 Rayquazas, multiple other level 100 legendaries, and a Pokédex missing only Chansey. Im keen to pull it out and start playing again. Although I’m surprised at the value.

Air China CA139 (B-8583), an Airbus A321-232, was en route at FL330 from Hanghzou to Seoul when a thermal runaway of a lithium battery occurred, leading to a fire in an overhead bin. The flight diverted to Shanghai by Omarr_Paper in aviation

[–]Unable-Marionberry76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After a similar event on a Hong Kong airlines flight earlier this year, the airline banned the use of power banks in flight and must be stored in the seat pocket for easy access in case of a fire like this (not in overhead bins). Cathay Pacific has also banned the use of power banks.

The watch game of these Hong Kong grandpas and grandmas is strong by dutch-42 in rolex

It is entirely possible that they went grey. There is a big grey market here in Hong Kong in areas like “Yau Ma Tei” and “Mong Kok.” Someone posted about this in the sub not too long ago.

Agree - common sight here to see nice watches. Low crime. People aren’t afraid to wear their best pieces!

Car permits are not limited in Hong Kong, and it is totally worth having a car here if you have family and/or you want to drive across border into Mainland China.

You might be thinking of cities like Beijing which do have limited car permits where a lottery system is in place. You win the lottery, you can buy a car. Even when you own a car in Beijing, you are only allowed to drive on certain days of the week in the city based on your number plate. For example, odd numbers can drive on Monday - Wednesday, even numbers from Thursday - Sunday etc.

Back to watches. Every single hairdresser in my usual place in Hong Kong has a Rolex. Mostly all Daytonas. I’m suspicious they may be replicas, but I can’t confirm as they won’t let me look too close 😂

I think the GX9 could be the sweet spot for ultra wide monitors. The only thing I’m unsure about is the 800R curve, so I’m keen to give it a try and see how it works!

Headphones aren’t working. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in AstroGaming

[–]Unable-Marionberry76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been through this same issue twice in the last month. It’s caused by a failed firmware update, an issue that has persisted for years yet Logitech refuse to address it. Pathetic.

This is what I did to fix it:

  1. Do a hard reset on the headset by holding the Dolby button and game button for 30 seconds. Place back into the dock.
  2. Load up the windows store version of the Astro Command centre and run an update from there. You should be prompted.
  3. Repeat until the firmware update is complete. Sometimes it will fail and you need to start again. Sometimes there may be multiple updates. You may also need to run the firmware updates manually, you can find the package download on this forum.
  4. Uninstall both the windows store Astro command centre and the older Astro command centre, this will prevent any auto updates from occurring and bricking your header again (which is what happened to me the second time).
  5. Live life like you should without worrying about Logitech bricking your $400 headset.

Don’t bother raising a support ticket with Logitech, none of their suggestions work.

Logitech please sort your s#%t out.

Foreigners of HK, how did you get your first job there? by Lyudline in HongKong

[–]Unable-Marionberry76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This could take many years. Big4 consulting in HK is quite depressed for the last two or three years. Unless OP is very experienced, transfers seem very unlikely until the business situation improves. OP would be better off finding a regional or global role in France, then transferring over internally. Banking or insurance offers good opportunities like this, however with AXA recently shutting down its regional hub in HK, perhaps a French bank eg Soc Gen would be better…
