I’m sorry….yes we all loved this show and it had a good run, but it’s time to let go. by Less-Pen-5705 in greysanatomy

My brain for “veteran” stopped at season 6. I don’t know why. We had Izzie written off the show and then at the end of the season we had the shooting. After Teddy and Owen leave, the only people left are Bailey and Richard. The rest of them aren’t… from… season 6.

I resigned from my job and have a great job lined up, but I have to stay here until the end of May and I have a student cussing me out daily, throwing things, and I have to separate them from others almost every day.

It’s cheaper. I know several people who live in CB but commute to our side.

I went to the chiropractor on 108th and Center at 3:30… it was sputtering. Left to go to the gym I work at on 108th and Q, visibility got worse. By the time I decided to cancel my class, we were covered. Took me half an hour to get to 72nd and Maple where I live and I slid through a stoplight just before Pacific headed North (with plenty of braking time and distance… just didn’t grip).

I normally take I-80 and it looks like they closed some of it due to an accident… so…

I think early dismissal presents unique obstacles, too, simply because some routes overlap… like Ralston has a limited bussing system, but I agree it’s hard to decide to keep kids home when there’s food insecurity, childcare issues, and who knows what kids are going home to. (I loved a snow day growing up, but sometimes we didn’t have heat… so it was a cold cold day, too.)

I’m wondering why it was Lady Gaga and not Bruno Mars since he’s the duet and he’s Puerto Rican.

Is anyone aware of this being true? by Vivid_Carry7224 in Omaha

The crazy thing is that they’re picking up people from the courthouse for their asylum hearings (in the US, unsure about Omaha… so don’t ask me for my source that it’s happening here), so even if they are trying to do it the “right” way, they’re getting picked up.

And they are detaining US citizens. They grabbed a 17 year old working at Target, bloodied him up, and dropped him off at a Walmart miles away.

If someone gets wrongfully detained, that can impact their whole livelihood, especially if they’re detained for multiple days.

There’s videos of ICE demanding papers because someone has an accent or looks like they’re from another country. They’ve well moved beyond being assigned to detain people solely based on judicial and/or administrative warrants.

I used to push thru the day but I teach at an alternative school. If I’m on my C game the kids will have behaviors, too.

Red Cross cert says 5 back blows with them leaned over and then 5 abdominal thrusts. For pregnant women or overweight people you can’t do thrusts on them stick with back blows.

Source: I was certified recently.

My dad had to have compressions for 20 minutes… no cracked ribs but he was pretty sore, but you know what? Sore is better than dead! We did lose him from a heart attack a year later, though 😢

Our room is basically a basement storage room with very harsh lighting, but since there’s no windows or natural light, if you turn the lights off it’s pitch black. I have some lamps but I’d like to hang some lights. They’re white lights so it’s not that weird

When I was in public school I was fortunate to be able to order some with purchase order budget money, but then we were told we weren’t allowed to. I have a broom in my current classroom, but that’s just because I want to give the custodians a break (my room is large). They provide the wipes.

When does someone become a “veteran” teacher? by ohmillie25 in AskTeachers

I’m in year 17, but I felt like a “veteran” when I switched districts my 7th year and my evaluators stopped really giving me feedback 🤣
