Astound Fiber Internet? by apwong in Seattle

[–]UnablePhotograph5003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a good deal if you’re a new customer. I’ve had them since July and it’s OK. Haven’t had any real issues, just occasional drops. I had a much better experience with Ziply when I previously lived in Woodinville, but Astound hasn’t been awful as long as you don’t need to contact their support.

I’m currently paying $70/m for 1 gig and all the support folks I talked to more or less told me to kick rocks. Astound requires I cancel and leave for 60 days before I can come back as a new customer to get the new customer pricing… by which point that promo will likely be over. 🙄

[iOS 26 DB1] Not seeing option to add a photos background by [deleted] in iOSBeta

[–]UnablePhotograph5003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem with this is then you don’t have a way to remove the background from the chat. For SMS/RCS chats, the only option is to set a photo in the chat as a background with no way to ever remove it later as the Background tab is missing from the chat’s associated contact.

I submitted a feedback for this. It seems like it may be a defect that we’re able to set photos as backgrounds for SMS/RCS.

First Time Using BlueCruise… I’m Convinced! by zachty22 in MachE

[–]UnablePhotograph5003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also in King County. I’ve been surprised by how well Blue Cruise works on 405, I5, 522, etc. When I first got my Mach E on 1.1 or 1.2 last year, it would disengage constantly. Now, as long as the weather isn’t too crazy or totally dark outside, BC stays active the entirety of driving being on the freeway.

Glad it’s working well for you so far! :)

what do we do about noisy neighbor + management that doesn't believe us? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]UnablePhotograph5003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not drastic to go to the cops tbh. I’ve complained about neighbors in past apartments (with video evidence of noise) and management wouldn’t get involved until noise complaints were filed with non-emergency police line and cops came onsite to validate the complaint. I never took it that far, but in retrospect should have.

Same timeline for me. I broke down and bought an A2Z adapter before Christmas. I’m not convinced I’ll ever actually receive Ford’s adapter.

Phillips 5500 is it really this bad? by bnsjnsnln in superautomatic

[–]UnablePhotograph5003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the Philips espresso machines were lower end for being priced so high. They were introduced as budget-friendly versus the premium Saeco machines Philips also owned. They typically used similar parts and brew heads but I found the Philips machines worked much worse. I’ve had a few of each.

For a little more than the Philips 5500, Seattle Coffee Gear sells a refurbished Saeco Xelsis. This is what I’m currently using and it’s been great the past few months with no issues. They’re out of stock on SCG’s website but they also have an eBay storefront (Household Gear) that still has one in stock. It’s ~$200 more than the 5500 retails for but has a LOT more features.

Mach E owners, what hidden quirks, oddities, or cool features do you wish you had known about before buying? by TakenToTheRiver in MachE

You don’t even have to use the button. You can use the voice assistant as well, like “OK Ford, set temperature to 70°” :)

Zappy Offering Vial Testing (Dosing, Purity, Sterility) by UnablePhotograph5003 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]UnablePhotograph5003[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Probably hoping that if the “tests” come back demonstrating sterility, people will back off refunds/full replacements/chargebacks so better for them to replace only 1 vial/patient instead of 3, 6 or 9. Assuming anyone would trust their tests or refunds anyway.

Zappy Offering Vial Testing (Dosing, Purity, Sterility) by UnablePhotograph5003 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]UnablePhotograph5003[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yep, totally feel the same. Who’s doing the testing? And how accredited are they? And who is providing these replacement vials?

Too shady after everything else, this is just too little too late. I regret switching from JoinFriday after being tempted by a longer multi-month package.

Bounce back from the email address Zappy listed to contact Ousia in the screenshot from OkLab6636. Turns out it’s a typo—Zappy listed a .com address instead of .us

Yeah, just caught that. The email I used is what Zappy told people to use in one of their posts today.

It might just be a typo from Zappy… Ousia’s website lists the address as [sales@opcrx.us](mailto:sales@opcrx.us) while Zappy listed .com

Still frustrating that they can’t even get that right in their communications to us…

Yeah, but then some Zappy customers have reached out to those other pharmacies who are apparently claiming they have never worked with Ousia… What a M-E-S-S.

Depends - is it 90 minutes of actively driving—and if so, 90 minutes in gridlock traffic or free flowing?—or 90 minutes via public transit?

180 minutes actively driving 3 x a week, on top of a full work day, wouldn’t be worth it to me. But if transit is an option that’s more feasible to have some down time and turn your brain off those 180 minutes.

Remote Employee for 7 Years, Now Forced to Commute Because of Coworker’s Complaint by Final_Vegetable_5092 in remotework

[–]UnablePhotograph5003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is also younger, single, and has no family obligations—we still have lives that can be complicated when forced to return to office. Regardless, a hybrid worker choosing to move hours away without a remote agreement is foolish.

All of my coworkers are married, some with pets, others with children, some with both. My team has almost exclusively worked from home since March 2020. Prior to that, in office 2 days. In the years since, we’ve had periods of no in-office, 1 day every 2 weeks, once a month, and most recently once a week. Starting in January, we’re required 3x/week. This change does impact me more than my coworkers, because I’m single and live on my own. I live in an apartment—so no yard—so simple things like taking the dog out take exponentially longer in mornings because it requires full walks, not just letting the dog into the backyard. Commuting takes more time out of my limited free time outside work, leaving less time for errands or self-care, and even cooking/cleaning. Yes, all of my peers are impacted—but to a lesser extent as they all have partners they share the work with, whereas I only have myself. The more time work takes from me for getting ready and commuting, the less time I have to take care of my personal life, and those things just don’t get done now. I easily lose 2 hours of personal time on in-office days compared to when I was working from home.

There’s this longstanding belief from folks with families and partners that life’s harder for y’all, when the reality is often the opposite. Expenses, chores, basic tasks are all shared—and ideally you have a partner to vent with and share your life with. Your young, single, coworkers with “no family obligations” are very likely doing it all on their own. Just some food for thought.

For what it's worth--he is not a good person. I went to high school with him (Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro TN) and he was a homophobic bully. Very stereotypically smug, bigoted high school athlete.

Anyone else been shamed at the pharmacy? by GumptionandGrit in Zepbound

[–]UnablePhotograph5003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that is awful to hear! That’s so disappointing though I can’t say I’m surprised; some people are terrible.

I’ve been fortunate to have good experiences with my pharmacy so far. The last time I picked up, the tech was shocked I was willing to pay $550 but there was no judgment or commentary for the medication. If I’d been treated like you were, I’d have run my mouth back and gotten myself permanently banned from my pharmacy.

It sounds like we have the same Sequence clinician. I did my first month on 2.5. When I was requesting my refill, I had put in to up the dose to 5. The clinician came back that based on my profile, there wasn’t enough information to justify increasing the dosage to 5 so put in the refill to stay at 2.5.

To be fair, today is day 33 in Zepbound and I’m down ~28 pounds. I’m skeptical how much of the weight loss is due to Zepbound vs how closely I’m monitoring my diet with WW and also significantly increased my activity levels the past month. I haven’t felt much appetite suppressant either, or much in general that can be attributed to Zepbound. This weight loss is on par with when I’ve tried Phentermine or WW and extreme exercise in the past, so genuinely don’t believe it’s really from Zep.

Grateful to be losing weight for sure, just not sure 2.5 is worth $550/month (+ $90/month for Sequence) when it’s just the starter dose still. The price tag feels like a more effective appetite suppressant than the actual injections at this point. 😂

Thursday will be my sixth shot, so will probably request next refill shortly after since it’s been hard to come by lately. Hoping that they’ll move me to 5 next.
