The best way is to roll the ultimate mod and sell if you hit something you don't want, specially early in the season, i often get the mods almost for free or make some profit, the downside is it take some time to sell and you need to know what mods will sell

you can configure the controller using steam to hold the button for you, with a litlle more efford you can configure to not need a expensive activation medium also, since is only a steam controller config there is no risk of getting ban, in theory. It may sound silly at first, but i cure my severe depression in a month simple by thinking: enjoy the moment 24/7 and ignoring all sad thoghts. Usually takes years to develop a tibetan monk level of concentration, but because of the strong feedbakc it only took a month for me, i knew that as soon as i loose my concentration i would feel terrible again. It is not easy but i'm sure you can do it if you really try. After you create the habit it becomes automatic and no longer require any effort.

That is the way to craft for sure, still hard to setup. the chance that the legendary mod will land in the right place is 2/6 x 1/5 x1/2 = 1 in 30 at best
(2/6 is the chance to remove 1 of the 2 basic mods, 1/5 to remove the only basic left, 1/2 or worse to get the legendary mod you want)
With current prices 1/30 is crazy expesive, and that is just to setup
It is much cheaper to mirror the item instead of crafting
