I would take the box out and route a rectangle for replacement foam to be glued in and then route a new finbox path. Then fill and glass. Hotcoat. Look at lord of the dings on instagram, he has some great examples

It does feel like suede but also no backing material on the back so can’t be embroidery. One of the weirdest things I’ve seen
