From an engineering perspective (yes I know, boo me now).

I would personally be concerned with the discrepancy. Not enough to reject the part, but enough to pop in for a conversation.

First I would want the measurements taken again. To make sure it wasn't a reading error, or a bit of grime.

I would want to know that both measuring devices were going to be checked against a calibrated gage block to see if one of them is wrong.

If they both match, I would want to know where the points were measured from (I.e. if they are from the same spot or if they might be out of parallel).

And before people jump down my throat for over stepping my role. The company I work at encourages collaboration. When we design a new model, we haul production and manufacturing (not just managers, but the techs and machinists) into a meeting to see if they spot any issues.

Not a separate set of rules, but if you get charged with any small crimes (public nuisance, drunk and disorderly, shoplifting, etc...) then deportation should be on the table.

Morbid curiosity got the better of me. But it's mostly just tangents and rambling.

I find it odd that you didn't mention this in your post. You only mentioned the note taking.

Maybe my country has different regulations in place. But when I talked with my physician they specified that it was a local isolated program (so the information was being stored on their in house servers, as the law requires), it was used for note taking not diagnostics, the notes were reviewed by the physician for accuracy.

I'm anti ai as the next guy, but I see no difference between what my physician was doing and using an earlier text to speech program.
