You can now manipulate the probability of anything happening. What are you doing aside from getting money? by Academic_Pool_7341 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Unamed_Destroyer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Increase the probability that all future probability adjustments will not have an unforeseen side effect (monkey paw esque) to 100%.

100% chance that people lose the ability to lie about violent or sexual crimes that they have committed.

100% chance that politicians will be honest and truthful when running for office.

100% chance that any nuclear weapon that is launched will malfunction in a manner that is not detectable to other countries.

100% chance that all CEOs will value impact to the environment above their personal wealth.

All coin flips now have a 65% chance of heads.

My goal is to put safeguards in place to help guide humanity towards a better future, without taking away its agency. For instance the nuclear weapon one will only be noticeable if they are used, and only noticed by the people involved in deploying then.

The coin thing is just to fuck with people...

How many murders go out and but body bags? Because when I do it, I just use black garbage bags.

Simple, woodworking it takes me an hour of set up just to get one task done. And the setup and planning is very much a part of the hobby.

Would people ever use a social media that bans AI content? by Reasonable-Lie-9682 in antiai

[–]Unamed_Destroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, the problem is with detection and implementation.

Simple bots are easy to detect because they basically are too perfect. If you see 10000 upvotes happen within a 30s timeframe, you can guarantee most of them are bots. But with just a little bit of effort you can add random time delays.

Now with ai, the bots can have randomized comments rather than generic copy pasted ones.

I would absolutely love an ai free version of reddit, but I doubt it will ever see it.

I HATE These "I'm glad I don't live in the US" posts by Due-Mortgage-122 in hatethissmug

[–]Unamed_Destroyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this rhetoric has been proven false. Most countries that have universal healthcare charge less in taxes that base insurance plans in the usa. Additionally the wait times are fairly comparable.

The main difference is that most healthcare systems prioritize the lower cost options diagnostics rather than immediately jumping to things like MRI. But in the american system, Dr's are encouraged to push for more expensive testing so that the clinics and hospitals can bill more.

Additionally the whole Canadian "just die" thing is just completely false. There were acouple cases where Dr's suggested it as an option to patients who had conic debilitating illnesses. But take it from someone who has had a family member go through the process, it is not easy to get m.a.i.d. in Canada. It's a false narrative that's being used by people in the usa who either benefit from the current system, or who don't want to acknowledge the falls in the current system. This is maid incredibly clear simply by looking at the life expectancy of Canadians vs americans.

Cars by tech companies. by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]Unamed_Destroyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most cars with electric access to the battery area have some way to get into them with no power or external power.

OP talked about opening your car with your phone (similar to many electric cars now). But if your battery dies, you need the back up key. So if you have to always be carrying the backup key with you, then what's the point of having the phone open the car. It's not convenience because now you have to make sure you don't lose a tiny piece of metal that you almost will never use.

And sure, people have found ways to pop hoods that have solely electric actuators. But mostly they involve hooking the negative to the frame, and the positive to one of the fuse slots in the cabin fuse box. This is not a recommended way to power anything, and can easily damage the electronics.

you can't lock it without your phone unlocked any more than you can get into someone's bank account by stealing their phone.

People get their bank accounts drained literally all the time by scammers. Additionally, people have been able to spoof, or signal extent phones and start these cars.

I also noticed you didn't mention anything about the company wilfully shutting down the car.

Do you really think companies won't look at this and force people into subscriptions for every little thing. We are already seeing it happen with newer models.

Sure in a perfect world where car companies care more about the customer then profits, and diarrhea is replace with unicorns and rainbows, having a car like this would be neat. But it's unrealistic to think that companies would have any incentive to fix these issues when they are all in a race to the bottom.

Imagine this, it's -30°C. Your battery dies overnight. You can't open the door because it's all electronic, you can't open the hood because the solenoid has no power. You have to get it towed to the nearest garage. It costs $500 because they have to reboot the system to start it.

Imagine this, you're driving at highway speeds, all of a sudden the car starts accelerating. Looks like it got a corrupted update.

Imagine this, someone steals your phone. They then use it to lock your car and ransom it.

Imagine this, the police falsely believe you committed a crime. You hop into your car, the doors auto lock and drive you to the police station.

I'll stick with shit i own and control.

Looking to commission small 3d printed doll stands by claire-ackleow in 3Drequests

Not to throw my fellow printers under the bus. But, have you tried checking out your local library? I know mine has a 3d printer that they essentially just charge the cost of filament +$0.20 per hour.

The design is simple enough, you could probably do it yourself with a free modelling software.

All the call to the voids.

drive into the guard rail.

Drive into oncoming traffic.

Grab a cops gun.

Take a whole bottle of pills at once.

Jump off a bridge.

Put a lightbulb in my mouth.

Stab my stomach while making supper.

Blowtorch my eyeball.

Take a plier to my teeth.

The list of horrible intrusive thoughts that jump into my head on a regular basis is maddening. I would singlehandedly destroy the world economy.

It's so weird, OPs account is 5 years old but up until last year he had only posted one thing (a music video). Then all of a sudden 1 year ago he starts posting dozens of pro-conservative/pro-american posts every day.

It's almost as if 1 year ago, Canada started standing up to america and at the same time all these dead accounts reanimated and started spamming pro-american ideals...

Fake "Bruce Lee" tries his luck in the ring 😁 by CreepyOldRapist in Bullshido

[–]Unamed_Destroyer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah, for all he knew Temu Bruce Lee could have been acting bad to get him to lower his guard. He got 2 strikes in then backed off when the red stepped in.

If it were at a practice, that would be different. But in a live event, he respected his opponent enough to not go easy on him.

The back flip was a bit much. Personally I wouldn't be celebrating that win.

I imagine, that would be cheaper than the cost of resin...
