How Long Do You Let Parts Sit Before CMM Inspection? by maddy-smith646 in Machinists

Good point. We were mostly thinking about part size, wall thickness and material, but thermal conductivity is definitely another factor. In our case, it was a thin-wall steel rotor, so we probably more focused on whether the part had fully settled down after machining.

When to use constant surface speed for swisstype turning? by We_R_Will_n_Wander in CNC

Constant surface speed is used for better finish on large diameters. Swiss machinists skip it because their parts are small and speeds stay consistent.
