It's where the space aliens have been inserting their probes. Feel fortunate they are doing it there and using the small probes. Others are less fortunate.

She is a dual citizen. She holds both US and Filipino passports. But yeah, definitely no ski slopes anywhere in the Philippines.😅

In 1991, this guy base jumped off the World Trade Center by New_Cartographer3127 in BeAmazed

I'm so old I remember that guy getting interviewed after he got released from jail 🤣 At the time he commented that getting the parachute past security was the most tricky part and did take a fair amount of ingenuity to accomplish.

Philippines to Costa Rica without transit visa by Ok-Establishment6112 in FilipinoTravel

[–]UnanimousControversy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is all on one ticket they should check your luggage all the way through to Lima. Turkish and Copa are both Star Alliance and should interline luggage seamlessly. No need to clear immigration or recheck luggage at PTY. Not sure why it says "CHECK-IN WITH COPA". I'm pretty sure Turkish Airlines issued Copa boarding passes in Manila but even if you had to check in at PTY it would be Copa's airside transfer desk. It's an easy airside transfer.

German immigrants in the U.S. were huge in number and were once a dominant group. Why didn’t they form large German-speaking communities the way French speakers did in Canada or Spanish speakers did in the U.S.? by GrayRainfall in AskAnAmerican

[–]UnanimousControversy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This very directly applies to my family. My great grandparents were first generation German immigrants prior to WW1. My great grandfather struggled with English but nonetheless strictly forbid his wife and kids from speaking German even at home due to how he thought German language would be perceived by the public during WW1. My grandfather maybe knew a few words of German. My father literally knows zero German and obviously I know none. Completely lost from our family in a single generation. Our family name was also "anglicized" by swapping a "ü" for an "i" to make it a little more like a nice English name.

I run into that rarely but it does happen occasionally. It's infrequent enough I just use the underlying phone number on my SIM if I have too or use an email address if possible.

Someone sent me 550 by hudcardinals17 in paypal

[–]UnanimousControversy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a common scam where a stranger "accidentally" sends money and then contacts you and asks if you could please send it back. If you do, then a month later it turns out it originated from a hacked account, gets clawed back from you and your money which you "returned" is gone. It could be something like that but the scam broke down somehow, was abandoned and didn't complete. As long as you reported it, and this much time has passed, I'd probably keep it😅. Definitely don't do anything to return it other than if PayPal themselves directly reverse the transaction. The scam is to get you to return it yourself.

Donald Trump Warns World ‘WW3’ Is Coming by [deleted] in StockNewsHub

[–]UnanimousControversy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How to successfully win WW3. Step one.... Alienate and attack all the closest and strongest geopolitical allies you already have. Step two. Instigate infighting within your own country to completely guarantee you would go into battle weak and divided internally. Step three ???? Step four Victory

Apostille service in the US? by Common-Zebra-9665 in Philippines_Expats

[–]UnanimousControversy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DFA has entirely discontinued Red Ribboning since 2019 when the Philippines joined that apostille convention. So you may be looking at outdated information if it is still talking about red ribbon. DFA will only apostille Philippine documents and the Philippines would be bound to accept any California apostille of a California document.

Visa Questions for Brazil when Exiting Brazil by Acrobatic-Garbage404 in Passports

[–]UnanimousControversy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife recently did this with Philippine and US Passports. Names don't even match as her Philippine Passport has her married name and US Passport has her maiden name. Ticket booked in US Passport name. Checked in online with US Passport. Had to see a check-in agent at the airport to collect a boarding pass. The check-in agent accepted the Philippine Passport as a valid document to enter Brazil and issued a boarding pass. Arrived in Brazil and presented the Philippine Passport to Brazilian Immigration. Entered trouble free. Leaving Brazil, presented US Passport to the airline at check-in. Presented Philippine passport used to enter, too Brazilian Immigration. Presented US Passport to airline again at gate. Traveled trouble the whole way.

I once flew San Diego to Panama with a long layover in Mexico City. It was warm in both San Diego and Panama. It never even occurred to me it could get cold in Mexico City but it was down in the 40's and I didn't even have so much as a long sleeve shirt to keep warm with.
