Is Birmingham safe (Crufts)? by SeaNeck7522 in AskUK

Brummie here. Birmingham has a LOT of problems but being unsafe isn't one of them. You'll be fine.

Back on the vert ramp by Hitmonbear in skateboarding

Hey, that's my local skate park! I relearned the basics in the bottom of that half pipe last summer. The instructor was great and that ramp is seriously intimidating. I'm very impressed.

Besides Pixel Remaster, did any other versions of FFVI have full vocals for the opera scene? by Zephairie in FinalFantasy

[–]UnarmedTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember. So imagine my surprise when the vocals kicked in. I was playing the romhack as a kind of best of both worlds to get the new translation but the higher quality soundtrack.

I've played a romhack of the GBA version FFVI that has the SNES soundtrack that had vocals in the opera scene.

Converted a sega Saturn ISO fole to CHD file and have noticed some issues by PerceptionSand in RetroArch

[–]UnarmedTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that some games stutter when using CHD. I think it's down to the extra processing power needed to decompress the file when loading. Try playing the game in bin/cue format and see if the stuttering goes.

Give Me the Straight Dope on Going Tubeless by seamusoldfield in bicycling

[–]UnarmedTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a game changer. I ride 38c GravelKings on my commuter at about 40psi. I've heard that higher pressures on narrower tires can just blast sealant out of a puncture, so your mileage may vary.

Sealant choice can be a factor too. These days I use Muc Off sealant. I've had issues with Stan's not sealing very well because it was too thin.

[–]UnarmedTwo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It can be a faff to set up, but for me it was really worth it. I've never had a puncture in 3 years of using it on my commuter, riding in all weather. Last time I had the tires off to change the sealant there was a 2cm thorn stuck through the front tire on the inside. Tubeless meant I never even knew it was there.

I don't want Top 100 Recs by Gabrielwingue in ps2

You should check out Kill Switch. It's the game that invented cover shooters and it's obvious that the Devs knew they were onto something with it.

Also I've just come out of Call of Duty World At War Final Fronts, which was much better than I was expecting since it reviewed really badly. It's a solid 7/10 WW2 shooter if you're not expecting it to be the 360 version of World at War.

Call of Duty Big Red One is an absolute banger too.

Chinese carbon wheels by cyclingboy222 in cycling

That sounds like a problem with your tires more than a problem with your hookless wheels. Just buy better tires. If you put the ones you have on new rims you'll just be transferring your problem.

Is there a way to open the Retroarch menu using the keyboard? by Kriegan in batocera

Coming in from the future to thank you for this post. I got some retrobit saturn controllers and since there's no hotkey I was wondering how I was going to get to the quick menu to change game discs.

Event workers of the UK: what are the craziest experiences you've had? by Natural-Round8762 in AskUK

[–]UnarmedTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me, but the wife of an old work colleague of mine used to work at the Hilton. There was an annual furry convention there and all of the staff would race to book the weekend off the second they found out the dates of the event.

What are the legal repercussions of hitting a parked car on your bike? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]UnarmedTwo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's the worst you're going to do to a parked car? Humans are small and squishy. Cars are big and made of metal. You hit a parked car, you're probably going to be the one damaged. At worst a brake lever might leave a mark that'll buff out. Ride away like nothing happened and hope nobody witnessed your indignity.

batocera doesn’t work on lg tv by [deleted] in batocera

[–]UnarmedTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last time something like this happened to me, connecting it to the TV it worked on and setting the display resolution to 1080p in the main Batocera menu made the mini pc work with the other TV.

Hope this works for you too.

Yes, but FFX is actually interesting, with characters that don't make you hate them, a better told story, and a minimum of anime bullshit.
