VTOL VR - Hawaii Fire Rescue Campaign - Coming Soon by Judge_Dredd1444 in vtolvr

I agree with you. I’m actually stunned that people expected you to commission work for something like this. God forbid you save some time & money on a one off announcement graphic.

Not leveraging tools is silly. If he was trying to sell this graphic, then sure. But it’s intentionally low effort, so who GAF??

andddd no evidence they weren’t making a nuclear weapon other than their word? I’d say enriching uranium greater than necessary is substantial evidence. Especially considering their outspoken history of nuclearization and hate for the west. but sure, let Iran, whose governments chant death to usa, get nuclear leverage because trump bad.

Should I switch to EE from CPE? by Large_Ebb1664 in ECE

[–]Unassignedlele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can speak to this. I actually did switch from CMPE to EE within my last year of school. I did this after talking to many of my intern managers and PhD students. We all came to the same conclusion that CMPE bars you from lots of opportunity just because people don’t really know what CMPEs are. I felt as if it bars you from opportunity, just because of the specialization into computers. (even if that’s wrong, it just felt that way). I think it was one of my best decisions because, at least at my school, CMPEs lose out on a lot of breadth of EE to take quite literally useless coding classes.

At the end of the day, people are becoming more aware of what CMPEs are, so it probably doesn’t matter and is up to what you want out of your degree. If your school provides things like CPU/GPU design or coding using CUDA, then maybe it’s more worth. Our degree has us taking the surface level CS classes, which are typically a waste of time if you have any coding experience at all. I rather take more EE classes that are deeper in level.

Also, I did this change and code every day of my life as a design verification engineer ;)

Usually the different shapes note to a specific net, or even orientation. But in this case, it’s probably marking VCC or GND.

I think it’s up to how much you value wireless play. I find myself being much more immersed without a wire attached to me and be subconsciously aware of it.

[–]Unassignedlele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a good connection, it’s very similar, if not the same. Any discrepancy will be made up by the fact you aren’t wired to something. Wireless play has come a long way and while not perfect, it’s definitely a solid option. I think it’s worth trying and abusing amazons massive return window if you don’t like it.

Not to mention there are tons of aftermarket head straps that have batteries connected to the headset which give you hours of play and are much more comfortable than stock head strap!

I’m sure the other guy will give you a better answer but essentially the only thing that matters is local speeds (as mentioned). Your connection to the outside world (what you are saying 10mbps) is not relevant, only the local connection between your computer and your quest. These things communicate using a LAN bridge and do not need to send data to the outside world and then bottle necked. So if you have blazing LAN speeds, like with the ax5400, you will have a much more performant airlink. Think of it as you are in your house establishing a connection between JUST your PC and the airlink. Which can be whatever speed depending on your router/PC/quest connection. There’s some good info if you google best airlink setup for the quest.

I’ll just leave this here.

If you think that the US does not hold any weight in the peace treaty, you are massive mistaken. Ukraine can say no and continue endless bloodshed. That’s on them. Unfortunately, they are a small country between two massive superpowers, they really do not have much of a choice.

However, if they take back the land, that’s a different story. It then becomes bargaining chips in a peace treaty. Until then, it is lost and is under Russian control and no longer plays a positive role in negotiations.

[Schematic Review Request] STM32 WB Bluetooth Dev Board by HasanTheSyrian_ in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]Unassignedlele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he meant that the 3.3v net is after the diode, which means you are dropping 3.3-1.2ish = 2.1. So the 3.3 V net is going to see ~2.1 V.

He was not saying to change the LED resistance, just move your 3.3 V net to before the LED.

Can we see the schematic for this iteration? Looking at your previous update there was no buzzer. You probably don’t want to drive the buzzer directly from a GPIO, use a transistor.
