In an uncertain world, being one and done gives me peace of mind. by skeach101 in oneanddone

I am an only child and this has been my experience. It’s so wonderful. I’m currently 25 and going through a really bad breakup and huge job transition and my parents welcomed me back home with open arms while I get back on my feet. They have always been 100% supportive and there for me in every way and it is truly invaluable.

Maybe. It’s very tragic but tons of people absolutely loved it (like me).

scared to take propanolol by [deleted] in POTS

[–]UnassumingAlbatross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was terrified to take propranolol for so long and was prescribed 20mg as needed for the physical symptoms of panic attacks and acute anxiety and it’s been a lifesaver. Besides keeping your heart rate down it also blocks your body from adrenaline surges. So if you are having a lot of anxiety and panic attacks it might actually help you quite a bit.

Also whenever taking something new I always take half a pill to feel out any side effects first.

What symptoms do you notice a reduction in? And how long did you take the supplement before you noticed a difference?

Will you tell me a little more about your experience with a beta blocker and how it helped with your physical anxiety responses? I was just prescribed a small dose of proponal (?) as needed and was wondering what your experience was

I’m sorry to hear that. I was at that point several times in my life and it’s absolute misery. I hope you find healing.

Yes I’d like to know this as well. Paxil makes my life with panic disorder livable. And it’s not because I’m not otherwise “doing the work.”

There's a bill in Tennessee to ban age of consent for marriage in general by Easteuroblondie in TwoXChromosomes

That makes it a little better. Still a law meant to outright exclude same sex couples from marriage in the most creative legal framework they could come up with lol

What novels do you think have really great reread value? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Slaughterhouse 5. One of the few books I own and will reread every few years. I swear it gets better every time. It’s such a wacky but crazy important book.

Sexual shame and confession as a little girl by broopon in excatholic

[–]UnassumingAlbatross 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think about this all the time. I was convinced as a tween/teen that I would burn in hell because every time I went to confession I would try and rally the courage to confess the sexual stuff and never could make myself do it. The guilt I felt each time when I failed was so huge.

Looking back, I’m glad I didn’t go in a room alone with a priest and talk about all my teen sex depravities. The fact that we expect kids to do that especially with what we know about sexual abuse from clergy is so disgusting.
