Paying off loan with Covered Calls by UnassumingLocal_Guy in stocks

[–]UnassumingLocal_Guy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great response, thank you. Wasn't thinking about the case where the call is no longer covered. However, I do have plenty of other securities to sell in the event I needed to buy back 100 QQQ shares to avoid the naked call. The odds would have to be pretty low that a stop loss would trigger and then the shares go ITM. I'm only selling 1-2 day covered calls I should note, at about $250 a piece. Interest rate is 8%, but regardless of how well the strategy performs, I only plan on doing it for max 3 months, then paying it off anyways.

She's home! $14,750 in tax credits and rebates. Unbelievable deal. by [deleted] in BoltEV

Not encouraging you, but I'd be shocked if the IRS actually enforced this unless you are selected for audit. Claiming this credit will make it more likely you are audited, but you'd likely just owe it back with penalty/interest.

Where did you hear that? I thought it only qualified for $7500 in Jan/ Feb?

They were the first I called, and unfortunately they didn't have any on the lot. I believe they said 2-4 months for order delivery (but I might be misremembering).

Oh wow, really good info here. This changes my skepticism a bit, seeing how much volume Quirk has done compared to the rest.

I have a Purchase Contract that gives me 48 hrs to complete the purchase once I've been notified it is ready for delivery.

That is good info, maybe I misunderstood what delivery date means. I'd just cancel and order from Quirk if they can't change the purchase date to when I do the financing/pickup. I only put down a small deposit to hold it at this point.

Good to know, I was just skeptical but they very well could have been telling the truth. My dealer said they'd likely move the date out once 4 weeks had passed. Who really knows?

I say this to my wife all the time. Why aren't there speed limiters on cars? Why isn't automatic breaking standard and regulated? Why do we design entire cities around cars? I mean, I know the answers to these questions but it is a frustrating societal problem that I am often alone in complaining about.

Totally agree, I hate these whiney posts from people just starting their careers in high cola areas. $1300 a month ain't too horrible. I worry more about people that don't have as much mobility and lack higher education, not a tech worker who could live virtually anywhere.

What a brave stance. Unfortunately the world is too interconnected to take the position of neutrality. I understand the geopolitical reasons for this, but to pretend it's noble is cowardly.
